So what are the pro life party proposing to do about the mental health problem that keeps shooting people?

when it comes to ********* killings in the U.S. it's still dwarfed by how many innocent people are ****** by ***** drivers every year. Why isn't there a push for more laws against that? It's much more of an epidemic in the U.S. than mass shootings. And dead is dead.

If you get caught driving *****, you lose your license to drive, and can go to jail, even if nobody gets hurt. If you accidentally discharge a weapon in an area with people, you can walk away without even a slap on the wrist if nobody gets hurt, and sometimes even when people do get hurt. People in this country are ****** by "accidental discharges" all the time and [NOBABE]the killer[/NOBABE] is not charged.
Not to mention, a car is designed and intended for transport, and in many parts of the country is essential to being a functioning member of society. Guns are designed and intended to **** things, and nobody can argue that they can't successfully live their life without one.

The militia argument was decided by the Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) and reinforced in McDonald v. Chicago (2010) that the right to keep and bear arms was an individual right.

I have to say that coming from one of those countries that disarms it's citizens, it has never once crossed my mind that I'm somehow disadvantaged by this!

It's one of the few joys left in the UK that 99.9999999% of the time nearly all in the UK can do whatever they like without fear of being gunned down!

I felt that way living in Japan for years. Not just being gunned down but being a victim of a crime, period.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of bad people in the U.S. and some really bad ones. And God bless the police, but they can't be everywhere at once and more often than not they do not arrive on time to stop a crime in progress and protect you from being assaulted. They file a report afterwards. In fact, in most jurisdictions in the U.S. the police aren't even legally obligated to protect you. Your personal protection and that of your ****** ultimately comes down to you or each individual. I don't ever want to be in a position where I'm lined up and waiting to be slaughtered like sheep.


It would be great to live in a place where guns aren't needed. But I want that option available here.

And even with a warehouse full of every machine possible, there's only a handful of people in the world who could churn out a reliable and effective semi automatic weapon from scratch, at least until better materials are available for 3d printers.

Not really. I know a couple of guys that could make a 1911 .45ACP fairly easily. The hardest part is the heat treating. But it's irrelevant, because the fact is, they can always be gotten illegally. You see, that's the giant hole in all of the anti *** crowds argument. You can get a hot *** on any corner, and most criminals do, and so will the honest people, if the government has it's way. The right to bear arms is paramount, and it will not be denied to those that have the will and desire.

So you admit that you can easily get ******* guns now, but don't believe that making it more difficult to legally obtain guns might stem the flow of ******* guns? It costs money to smuggle them into the country, and sure, there's enough of them in circulation now to keep things going for a while before a noticeable change, but every first world country has done it. I guess America is just so exceptional it can't figure out basic things that developed nations clued onto ages ago. The right to bear arms is horseshit. The average person is a moron and has no business carrying around a weapon that can end a life in an instant just because a handful of racist assholes might have scribbled it onto a bit of paper a couple of centuries ago.
