I don't want to make this into a racial or partisan thing, so I add this and ask for everybody's cringe-worthy moments from our dear representatives of all colors, creeds and parties. There are certainty plenty to go around. But please, keep this as a Congress only thread (that means Representatives and Senators)

Yes, there are more than a few idiots in Congress. But they didn't bogart their way in. As has been said, somebody had to vote for them. So we have no one but ourselves to blame.
They are amusing though (if you live some place else). Here's a clip of my fantasy girlfriend/sex slave, Michele Bachmann. She's easily confused, which is why I want her for a girlfriend. When she says "Hoot-Smalley", she really means "Smoot-Hawley. When she says "Democrat", she really means "Republican" (which Smoot and Hawley both were). And when she says "FDR", she really means "Herbert Hoover" (the guy who actually signed the measure into law - FDR opposed it). Likewise, when I say, "Michele, let's have dinner tonight", I really mean "get over here and get those panties around your ankles so I can ravage your mentally challenged ass."

Actually it's in America where religion is heavily politicised, in Britain as in most of Europe religion is left to the choice of the individual(s) and plays little part in party policies.
