well, considering that the only song anyone knows by NIN (and they
never know the actual title to) is
closer, its hard to call em trendy. that, and the fact that his style of music is yet to imitated and is, truly, its very own unique style.
it also happens to be my least favourite song. its unfortunate trent made a song that said "fuck" in it in that kind of context back then since it drove all the douches crazy with love.
since then, the nin following isnt a mainstream thing. his songs rarely hit the radio. in fact, when i did listen to the raido a long time ago, i heard people request nin songs and they were denied it. apparently, trents music doesnt fit the bubblegum garbage genre that rules the airways today.
trent does it all himself. he chooses to handle and create his music without anyone elses input. the guys truly talented and he writes stuff with actual meaning to it. not this corporate mega studio fake ass money making crap we are all accustomed to hearing today. there's no soul to almost everything i hear.
