The best thing you've ever purchased for under $20

Some of this stuff is just stupid. (Duct tape? Nail pollish?) Still, the list made me think.

Have you seen the Food Network show The Best Thing I Ever Ate? Food Network stars talk about the best thing they ever ate in various categories and where viewers can go to get those good eats. It's a great show that gives me ideas about new places and foods to try that I would've never otherwise discovered on my own. This kind of experience sharing is just the best. People love evangelizing about their new favorite finds (check out favorite bras and jeans), and people love hearing about them because it takes some of the risk out of trying something new. Everybody wins!

Curious to hear about more "best ever" finds, I asked real AOL Shoppers just like you to share their memory of the best thing they ever bought for under $20. It could be a beauty product, an electronic item, a home good -- anything! It just had to be for under $20. The eager responses were many and unsurprisingly diverse, but I've managed to group similar items together for us all to enjoy. Take a look at some of the best replies of our readers' favorite past under-$20 buys and see what new favorite products you might discover....

So, what's the best $20 you've ever spent? I've made a ton of money from thrift store purchases such as the hybrid golf club I bought for $10.00 and flipped for $150.00, for example, but I'll keep this limited to NEW items.

For me it's my California Car Dryer - the thing is amazing. Other than that perhaps the iron skillet I cook with.

Laptop stand for £1
Keeps the laptop raised to allow air to circulate under it and puts is at comfortable angle for typing. It's so good I bought 2.

My pineapple slicer for I think 3.99.

A lot less mess! Of course I also have a mango slicer, banana slicer and apple slicer...all under 5 euro as well. ;-)

Condoms.

Several packs of baseball cards that have had several high value cards. The most being a 2010 Topps Heritage pack that had a dual jersey of Roger Maris and Alex Rodriguez.

I know this breaks the rule and is not new, but a few years ago, I bought a shoebox full of baseball cards that contained rookie cards of Tony Perez, Joe Morgan, Steve Carlton, Joe Niekro and Johnny Bench, as well as 1960s cards of Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle and several others.

Well, since he's the greatest of all-time, I suppose it would have to be my biography of Muhammad Ali.

I also won a ball autographed by The Drew Christopher Brees at an after prom party.

WMDs from Saddam back in 2002, he said he needed to get rid of them quick, something about Americans coming I'm not sure

Handy stock of super glue.

Don't believe me? That **** will fix anything - including flesh wounds (for which it was initially developed). As I've been renovating a house, there are occasions on which I cut my finger or something. Instant fix. No *****. no stitches. No scars.

Plus, if you sniff it for a while, it makes all your cares go away.

I almost bought a HUGE lot of old baseball cards (10 massive boxes) at an estate sale last month. Whilst digging through them and pulling many old hockey, baseball and football RCs and being offered to purchase the lot for $20, some prick cut me off and bought the whole lot.

*** bought a lot of four Michael Jackson dolls for $40 and flipped them on the 'Bay for $240; also, he purchased a small case of LPs of old records and sold several original Sun Records' Elvis and Cash LPs for over $500.00. :surprise: Dude is always finding stuff at those estate sales. Always.

My wife. I thought is was a great deal at the time, turned out to not be so great. I traded her in and got a bookmark after just 4 days. So, I really paid $20 for my bookmark. best. Deal. Ever.

Condoms... which have saved me an uncountable amount of money over the years

or

A spare tyre. Because nobody likes getting a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere and being eaten by wolves.

Toilet paper. When I run out, I just buy more for about $5...jumbo packs last for months!
