First Blood.

Far more memorable than a bald headed tramp running around in a white vest taking out terrorists.

I thought Raiders of the Lost Ark was an '80's film? Or is it just not your style? It certainly had plenty of action in it. And I consider it to be one of the best films - any genre, any decade.

Aliens..

"We're all on the express elevator to hell... GOING DOWN!"

Die Hard was awesome, but there was alot of good action films.
The Punisher with Dolph Lundgren (I think that was 80's).
Plus all the Seagal movies, Van Damme. Too many to think of.

You cannot tell me any Seagal, Van Damme or Lundgren movie can compete with the ones listed. Some goo movies yeah, but not quality like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon.

Prince of the Rotten Milk
Predator for me.

you gotta love that monster!

Cyborg - Van Damme.

Brilliant apocalyptic atmosphere it had. And the (spooky at times) score used just added to the over all quality. And the main bad guy in it for some reason reminds me of Jaws from James Bond lol.

You've nailed it with that list, and I think even since then, the top three are still Predator, Die Hard, and Lethal Weapon. Thanks to those, most action movies since then are just cliches and rip offs.

Terminator certainly deserves to be near the top, and first blood is not only a great action movie, but a great movie in general.

Robocop, to me anyway, sucked balls. It was built up so much by people I know, and when I saw it, my thought through the whole thing was "this sucks". But then, I can't think of a Paul Verhooven movie I DON'T have that opinion of.

What.. but he made the two great flicks Starship Troopers (my 90s fav -scifi/action) and Total Recall. Even Hollowman wasn't that bad :glugglug:.

I was thinking of including this and Empire Strikes backs. I tried to stray from epic adventure and more towards violence. :violent::ak47:

As far as Top Gun goes, too much drama to be considered action to me but many do regard it as an 80's best action. :pukey:

Robocop belongs nowhere on anyone's list of good movies. Favorite cheesy or campy movie, sure. Even then I can't stand it. :dunno:

I did overlook Road Warrior. :glugglug:

Cyborg - Seriously? :nono:

I voted for Die Hard and would place First Blood second. If we were to go back to when these movies first came out, I would have voted for Terminator, but it like many movies I don't think it aged well. Road Warrior would be number one on an open list.

Van Damme and Segal movies aren't even worth being thrown in the trash and should be incinerated like toxic waste.
