I just have to share this insanely interesting study/infographic done by a guy named Jon Millward, whose name I hadn't heard until I saw this and is now one of my favorite people. Lol.

As far as a study like this goes and how one thinks of what an average porn star looks like I can see a big flaw in it. To be realistic it would have to compare the characteristics of only the small percentage of the most well known performers, especially considering how easy it is for technically anybody to make porn. This study is sort of the equivalent of asking somebody what does the average basketball player look like and then telling them they are wrong when they say the person is going to be tall because the study took pretty much anybody that played basketball ever into the study instead of just the people in the NBA and the average height only came out to 5 feet 10 inches or something like that.

While in an absolute technical sense the data in the study might be true, it wouldn't fit into what most people would consider a "basketball player" to be just like most people in the industry don't really get to the level of being a "pornstar". There certainly hasn't been 10,000 pornstars in the industry's history.

Very interesting findings. I was surprised by the average amount of time pornstars actually stay in the business.
But, I have to ask, can we get an ID of the pornstar that was morphed out of lisa ann, tori black raylene etc ?

I was surprised by that too! Though if you read the article paired with the graph, the author points out that the racial breakdown is basically equivalent to that of the American population overall. It makes me even happier that Asa Akira won Female Performer at the AVNs this year... porn is still one of the most racially segregated industries. I like seeing statistical probabilities turned upside down!! :clap: :clap:

Great, fascinating read. I just watched a pretty good documentary the other day, too. Life After Porn. Interesting watch to say the least. I think as porn has become more and more mainstream, the tastes and statistics like these will continually shift more and more over time.
