The Anti-Valentine's Thread

I don't get Valentines Day. It's like you need an excuse to be nice to your lady and treat her special. I thought you were supposed to do that everyday.

I also get tired of the insane commercialization of every holiday.

you are supposed to be nice every day but who can afford to buy over priced roses and over priced candy every day. its more a day just to dedicate to your somone special, maybe just a date and a break from your everyday rut. i am married and have a little boy so we dont get a whole lot of time to go out. but those of you who dont have somone dont fret one day you will. i remember back in my senior year there was this hot girl that was my friend and she didnt have anyone and didnt get anything she was upset, so my teacher let me leave school and i went and got her a single rose just so she would have a little somthing. she took it said thank you and kept sulking. some people just wont ever be happy.

I meant treat her special in a non-material possesion sort of way. I agree it's a little hard to buy overpriced junk all the time that will just be gone in a few days anyhow.

If like me, you have no-one special in your life at the moment,
then valentine's day is like a big kick in the nuts followed by a Nelson Muntz 'Ha Ha'..... well, I'm not having it!

So this year I'd just like to say...

Didn't know whether to titter or despair after seeing this headline:

New Delhi: Four activists of the Bajrang Dal were detained by the police when they tried to stage protests on Valentine's Day.

Police said that around 60 activists of the Hindu radical group began staging protests against the sale of gift items in shops and also those indulging in celebrations. The incident occurred in the Kamla Nagar market, north Delhi.

According to Webster:

Valentine's Day: "A bogus non-holiday based on guilt and a sense of obligation that is perpetuated by card companies, florists, candy-makers, jewelers, restaurants and the media in a shameless attempt to extract massive quantities of money from a gullible and compliant public over the course of one single day in February each year".

Yeah I **** Valentine's Day too!

All the people at work today were coming in with these big teddy bears and flowers and **** and the guys were bragging about the amount of splender they were going to spend on thier women

So I would like to give Valentines Day :thefinger:

Ah Single Awareness day, gotta love it. But everyone who is lonely on this day, don't fret, because remember we too have a holiday to celebrate for ourselves..........PALM Sunday

Edit:
I have a feeling someone isn't going to understand the above so here is the whole joke.

Q. Lovers celebrate Valentine's Day — what do masturbators celebrate?
A. Palm Sunday.

Or worse yet, they do NOT realize what love is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM, and then they wonder WHY they are miserable. ;)
Some women HONESTLY REAP what they sow, and you can't do anything about them.

Valentines Day is a special day when you can tell the one you love
just how much you appreciate them, let's not soil it by talking about it in October.

Unless you want to create a new Valentines Day in October to give the nod to the sweet ones in our lives that make it all worthwhile.

Then I'll vote for it!

Yup... perfect time to bump this thread
