Ummm, he's 4 years old and his mom's 21...and his dad's in prison. I'm afraid your advice falls on deaf ears.

Well in my opinion it doesn't matter what age you are (unless your a toddler or child yourself) you should know how to take care of a child, its common sense. Especially if its your own child! I'm 19 and have been a child care provider since I was 16. I'm CPR certified and all that jazz but you don't need red cross classes to realize that you should have child safety locks on doors or at least a baby gate blocking the bedroom door.

Yeah, but I'd say you're more mature and responsible at 19 than this woman will be at 29. This woman may have fewer maternal instincts than I do.

So the best thing for this poor kid would probably be for CPS to pick him up and maybe a good foster family will take him in, or at least he could get some therapy. Cause let's face it, if he's this far gone at 4, we'll probably be seeing him on CNN in a few years. Without some sort of intervention, he probably doesn't stand a chance in life.
