Tea Party Protestors (aka "Teabaggers") Attack Holocaust Survivor Elie Wiesel

i haven't studied the american health care reform situation that much so could someone tell me why some opponents seem to bang on about the piles of bodies thing?

Because they're shamelessly ignorant and will sink to any depths in their whining until they get their way (which they're not quite sure what that is, other than "not what Dems or Obama want, cuz Dems and Obama are bad").

For starters...

Ok, i must confess. A better title to the thread would have been (with all understanding to left winger, neo-com, progressive socialism). "Tea Party Protestors highly criticize holocaust survivor" that way you still link consevatives and nazi's together even though, the Obama's are the true authoritatians destroying freedom and telling everyone how to live their lives

I always think of teabagging when I hear this Tea Party Protesting thing.

Ok, back on topic . I'm sure Elie wiesel is a real nice lady, and her neighbors all can attest to it, But Ghandi and Martin luther king beleived non-violent protest was the ulitimate! And in terms of democracy (with laws, constitutional ones) the greater good of all (AMERICANS) would be served. But i would not have voted for her, so...... why is this even a topic?

Although there are many, many flaws with several sentences and ideas in this response, I'd like to know why ANY wingnut poster, who has posted in this thread, did not correct the most erroneous and obvious error in this particular reply....

But you almost did, didn't you?
I can tell you are bursting to point out ballznao's gender error, which the other wingnuts missed...HM's so busy trying to get some nasty time in, and FK is trying to get some more conservative bashing in, so they are as usual asleep at the wheel...:yahoo:...but you stepped up...almost...good for you!

Be afraid anytime anyone promises any sort of utopia. No matter how much Obama tries to repackage his ultimate goals and those of his party's supermajorities, the plans and messages differ little from those of initially put forth by Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Minh, and Chavez. A vigorous threat calls for a vigorous opposition; otherwise, we risk repeating the hardships of the previously mentioned plans.

Believe it or not, philbert, I don't read every post in many threads. I skim through them, focus my attention on those from the users who I've learned to expect insightful, intelligent comments from, and I frequently ignore those who can't put a sentence together if their life depended on it (although I do read them sometimes, just for the comic value of it). I missed ballzano's comment and I don't feel like I missed out on much at all, frankly...

And if one is to assume that you're correct in what I prefer to do here: "get some more conservative bashing in" [Nice reference to the conservatives-as-victims :crying::weeping: by the way], then perhaps you missed this post from...Ballzano!

- which tells me that he might actually be on YOUR "team" here. So, why wouldn't I have noted Ballzano's ignorant error, and got some "conservative-bashing" in? But I don't know, maybe he's just a drunken troll, playing for no side at all and just making random, incoherent comments. :dunno:

And it's funny you accuse me of mindless "conservative-bashing" - as if your entire reason for existence here in the FreeOnes talk forum was anything other than bashing those to the left of... you.

But, anyway, Elie Wiesel is a man, not a "lady" so let's just put that to rest, ok?

Can anyone explain this post for me? It may be that I'm not an American but what do MLK & Ghandi have to do with Elie Wiesel (who happens to be a guy btw, but I think the reason nobody else corrected ballzano is because this little fact isn't really important)?

And can anyone tell me who actually has voted for Elie? As far as I know he never put himself up far any election...

& since when is all limited to a very small part of the world population? I can understand why they'd need the greater good more than Europe, since I do believe (I've only been in the US twice) that it has a greater need for it, but there are places that are even worse of than the US, like South America, Africa and some Asian countries.

I heard that Simon Wiesenthal is really hot. Anybody know if she ever posed naked?

Anyway, I think everybody needs to look at the big picture. If you take your most passionate ideolgy, one that you feel the most secure and confident in defending and promoting, there will be thousand who feel the exact same way. And many will complete idiots.

Sure there will be racist, clueless idiots at Tea Parties. Just as "anarchist" vegans in Che shirts showed up at anti-war rallies with "END CAPITALISM" signs.

Defining a movement or belief by carefully selecting quotes from the dumbest or most naive of that movement or belief is the kind of shit we need to stay away from.

You have health care provided by your government. Who instituted that? Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Minh, or Chavez?

So, a few careful examples of the government doing what it should do (fix a few selected problems with specific guidelines) gives you the idea that the Gov Uberentity needs to just take it all over and multiply the fuck-ups that accompany the presence of any Gov't bureaucracy, while completely screwing up the economy beyond repair, intruding in each and every aspect of American life and putting a wide variety of unqualified and clueless idiots in positions of power and decision-making?
Hmmm...I can see you've thought this over carefully.

And if you just needed a specific answer to what is not a symbolic question...no, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Minh, and Chavez didn't institute Medicare and Medicaid...did you really think they did???

To translate...he doesn't have a clue but thought he'd make up an answer anyway.
He has confessed he doesn't read many posts and he gets a lot wrong...

It has to do with some flake coming up with a poster featuring Dachau and some dead victims in a pile, which was vaguely insinuated to be the attitude of the Socialist Obama/Dem HealthCare plan...death panels, restricted care to those who are more useful to the State, etc as being closer in philosophy to the totaltarian State-first former regime of the Nazis ...stupid but someone thought it would play well at a rally.
People like FK have played it for all it is worth, although it isn't even a repeated claim or more than 3 (?) fringies...hundreds of thousands of Tea Party attendees have said many things about, for example, the reasons literally millions of Americans don't feel confident that the Gov't can write a 2,000 page bill, not read it, and yet trust it will cure all the ills the American public has with health care, yet those 3 idiots are all the lefty wimps can point to as Tea Party typical attendees.
They obviously think that the Obama can lead his people to the Promised Land with his vast governing experience as a Junior senator from Illinois...while the rest of us can see where he maybe is not really in possession of a clue.
Only a bit short of a year and the blinders are lifted...the Dems are by default giving us over in 2010 to just as clueless Repubs ...who, thank God, couldn't be worse and could just maybe put some sanity back in Gov't through reverse example of the Dems.
I remember how the Republicans sat on their asses and did nothing when they were in majority control of congress...which (CURSE THEM!) led to a Dem Congress which turned out to be just as bad and soon after even worse. Then, we got Obama...!
We are fucked, no doubt about it...damage control is the best we can hope for.

Facial_King- Thanks a lot for the negative rep! It's nice to know that, far from taking anyone's comments in the spirit of a lively and opinionated debate, if you disagree with anyone's comments, you can freely damage someone's reputation by giving them negative rep. Very mature!

GORDAR, all the tea party protesters are doing is protesting the recent spending hikes in a peaceful manner. why does this guy care, and why did the media even create the story? so nutjob liberals could say to themselves "their just like nazi's" I don't think that just because he survived the holocaust automatically makes him an expert He's just a joke the libs Joe the plumber. In fact the whole thread is a joke

I think this is a joke, the thread, your ideology, and the premise. if you took any offense to me insulting the man, im unmoved. And don't care

Yes they are protesting in a peaceful manner, but some are using images of dead holocaust victims to make a political point, you don't see anything wrong with that? Equating Obama's health care plan to that of the Nazi's and then exploiting those images to gain an advantage and some shock value is repugnant and it just goes to show just how ignorant of the facts some of these people are.

Do you even know who Elie Wiesel is? Truthfully, I didn't when this first came up, but there's always Wikipedia, but from what I can tell you haven't even attempted to look into it. Why does he care? Errr, well because he survived the horrors of the holocaust and he sees something wrong equating political policies to those of the holocaust. I would think if you or I were in the same position we'd feel the same way.

It shows a complete lack of respect for the dead and a total lack of class on the part of these people to use these placards in this way and I can't see how anyone would jump to their defence.

the VAST majority of tea party protestors are not anti-semetic, I would imagine some are even jewish. And if you dont like censorship of any kind, well thats really what all this is about, its the lefties bitching now though here have a lemon. You can suck on it

I didn't pick out all, I clearly said some in my post and who's talking about censorship here? To censor these people wouldn’t be warranted; I think what’s needed is a little basic education on their part on the issues being raised. I would think if those involved were to actually take the time to read up on what they’re protesting and not to just put all their faith in those court jesters on TV, then the thought of equating Obama’s health care policy to Nazism would probably not be the first thing they’d think of it they actually wanted their protest to be taken seriously. It might also put a stop to all those “Fascist/Socialist” claims we’ve been hearing for the last couple months. Maybe (just maybe) they’ll learn that the two opposing ideologies are not interchangeable after all and in doing this they make themselves and the rest of their cause look foolish.

If this was so then those involved making these ludicrous assertions would probably think twice about doing so. But it’ll never happen so why worry.

:hatsoff:
