Suppertime! Suppertime! Hey Fellas, What'd You Have For Supper Tonight?

I have a tenant who is a screenwriter and a real softy of a White liberal. He proudly told me he'd never been in a fight in his life. I responded, "That's because you're so good with your mouth." He nodded his head and was beaming until I finished by saying, "Guess it's less painful than using your asshole."

Tonight is a night for TV Dinners, you know the ones with the enchiladas that I like so much. Notice that was a statement and not a question...

I had a chicken breast marinated in teriyaki sauce, on the grill. Made a fresh salad with iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes and croutons, and nuked some Uncle Ben's rice pilaf. Washed it down with a couple of glasses of savignon blanc from Marlborough, NZ.

Your poor rice is jealous of the love everything else got.

I grabbed a rotisserie chicken while running errands. Also some loaded mashed potatoes, and some Green Giant broccoli in cheese sauce. Washed it down with some Chateau St. Michelle chardonnay.

The wife and I ordered Chinese from a place with great food...and high prices. We'll definitely get it again, but it's going to be a special occasion place. We ordered a variety, house Lo Mein, house fried rice, shrimp Pad Thai, Kung Po chicken, shrimp eggrolls. We'll have diner again tomorrow, but I think 90 bucks is a lot for this area.

I wish I had a good rib joint nearby.

El Diablo: have you tried Chilis? I think their ribs are very good. (NOTE: Not as good as the ribs at Corky's in Memphis, TN though!!)

I agree. I also like Chili's Baby Back Ribs. Love to go there for a bowl of Chili and Boneless Buffalo Wings too. Chili's Appetizers are great.

If are hungry and in the mood for a burger get The Boss Burger.

I'm not talking chain store. I've got Quaker Steak for that. I'm talking about the kind of place that is owned and operated by the kind of black guys that KNOW how to make a sauce....like their grand ma's used to make. The kind of a place that knows what kind of wood to use, and how to build the best fire for the BBQ. Someone that knows how to cook greens, and grill corn. Real barbequed ribs and chicken. I know they're out there, but I just haven't heard who replaced the 2 places that were around, but now are not run by the original founders, and reputations have faltered.

Whitmores, and Hot Sauce Williams.

And before anyone wants to start, this post IS NOT racist. I can't help it the only ribs I've EVER eaten, that were truly amazing, were prepared by black guys.

DiGiorno's rising dough pepperoni pizza (1/2), fresh garden salad w/ cuke and cherry tomatoes - with Ranch dressing, Harpoon Winter Warmer beer to wash it down.

i ordered from a one location, local place called The Tavern Of Independence....because it's in Independence Ohio. I have had their burgers and fries, which are really good, but today I ordered 6 boneless wings, and loaded tater tots. I was not as happy with these. The wings were a little dry, and the tots were a little soggy. They also came drizzled with something called yum yum sauce, which was on the sweet side, and I didn't really like it. They make a roasted veggie wrap my wife swears by. I'll go there again, but it's strictly burgers and fries from now on. The burgers are 1/2 pounders, and offered in a variety of ways, so they still have some appeal.

Jersey Mike's. I had a Chicken Bacon Ranch Club. It's a good sammich. Served hot....or as close to it as you can get, it has melty cheese sauce, tomatoes, and other toppings, to suit your needs. I also get the Big kahuna Cheese Steak. Both are very nice.

Last night I had a 16+ ounce porterhouse steak on the grill, Green Giant broccoli & cheese, Texas Toast 5-Cheese, and washed it down with Rodney Strong Cabernet Savignon from Sonoma. Good eats!!

I had brinner again, from Bob Evans. I was up till 5am putting on a buzz, so I got up very late, and since the wife was right there with me, we were both feeling pretty rough, so about 2 pm I ate a huge breakfast. She ordered the traditional Thanksgiving type dinner, I had scrambled eggs home fries, sausage links, and a couple of biscuits with sausage gravy.
