Well it sure as hell isn't baseball that the people are watching and that's a fact. The main reason(s) are the female gymnasts, Michael Phelps, female beach v-ball and track and field. Sorry to say, but no one gives a fuck about baseball.
I watch the Olympics to show support for my country's athletes and not just to see the ladies either, especially Nastia Liukin....hmmmmm.....Nastia.
You're right, baseball hasn't done shit this year, primarily because they've only been playing for one day. But doing away with baseball as an Olympic sport
will hurt viewership in the long run. Two of the most populated countries in the world either feature baseball as a top level sport, or are close to it. You may be right, but if no one gave a fuck about baseball, I don't see how they're already promising to bring it back.
The Olympic ratings this year (at least to this point) are
100% on Phelps. Although overall "lifestyle" sports are up in ratings, Phelps is the only reason that the games are as popular as they are right now. The only reason the lifestyle sports are getting good ratings is because they're being featured in prime time, leading up to Phelps. Ratings after Phelps races are on par with the Athens games, which also had low ratings.
