Subaru Impreza STI (2008 onwards model)

Check out the new Subaru Impreza.

A 2.0-litre engine with 304bhp; we will be getting a 2.5-litre 296bhp engine in the UK. Why??

The turbocharged flat-four powerplant, at least once its turbo is spinning above 3000rpm or so. The STI remains one of the quickest-accelerating cars this side of a supercar, with an estimated 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds. However, the 2.0-litre engine suffers from a lack of low-down torque; we hope and expect that the 2.5-litre engine will have better response at lower revs.

For this kind of money Price – TBA (est £28,000) and performance stated above I would hope it's going to be better than it's Key rivals – Mitsubishi Evo X, Golf R32, Audi S3, BMW 135i, especialy cosindering the Golf R32, Audi S3, and BMW 135i are some of the heaviest cars on the road. The EVO will take some beating though.

Do you like it, **** it? I think it looks a bit like a Mazda and the front end looks like it's come out of a Vauxhall skip..

It's going to be an awesome though.

I have never liked Subaru's i find them really ugly, especially this one which looks like its got some sort of disease...i think thats whats the STI stands for(Sexually Transmitted Infection)...lol

But personally iv always preferred Evo's, Supra's and Skylines, they are better cars, sound better and look better...and if im not mistaken they are faster

Agree with you there -KING- :thumbsup: but the best thing about the Subarus's has always been the price and the service costs. The EVO has to be serviced every 4000 miles and if you drive it like you should be you'll be changing the tyres too. Very expensive, that's what put me off the EVO.

As for the Skyline, I just can't afford one, hehe!

I nearly bought a Scooby myself but went for the Ford Focus ST3 instead, the Subaru is a common car and at the time you didn't see many of the Ford's around. Unlike now, ten a penny!

And you are right the EVO always has had the edge on the Subaru.

The thing that makes me laugh the most is that the Subaru used to be sold next to tractors in the show room and look at how far they have come.

Well, I prefer V8's/V10's. But I have liked this car for awhile. But then they went and made most/all of their car front ends UGLY.

But they have fixed it with this one and it looks very nice.

I like it.

I'm all for Japanese technology, but there's still something lacking when you answer "what do you drive?" with "I drive a Subaru...." - no one really cares what comes next. :2 cents:

I rode in one 2 years ago with a Swedish rally driver at the wheel and what I remember most is the incredibly poor appearing materials inside and those terrible, tin can doors without full window frames.

I **** anything related to the fast and furious. Lot of japanese cars for the example the mitsubishi lancer evo in the fast and furious 2 has silly graphics and a dumb paint sheme, in other words it is a riceburner.
The new s3 is an ugly car and the new series 1 from bmw is horrible as well. Rather buy an older generation s8 or a8 with a good 4.2v8 or with the w12, it is much more luxurious, better built and more reliable.
My ultimate personal choice would either be a 1970 chevelle ss 454 ls 6 or a 1969 dodge charger r/t muscle car. Much more fun to drive because there are zero driving assistances and these cars have a lot of sex appeal.

I'm more like McRocket in being into bigger engines and bigger cars. So, while I don't really care for the car much, I was impressed that they could engineer that much horsepower into a 2.0L engine. Even taking into account modern technology, that's pretty impressive.

It's incredibly ugly. I like Suburu station wagons. I've never liked the WRX (or the EVO, for that matter) because, though they are impressive mechanically, they are both ugly ass shitboxes, looks-wise.

Everyone would be better off buying this: VW Golf R32. Volkswagons are the best cars from a depreciation standpoint, too...and they just look and drive so much better then anything non-luxury, non-exotic on the road...

they've never been pretty cars, but this ones probably the ugliest yet. it'll fast as fuck though. but i'l stick with my Golf GTi i think, subtle but effective.
