If any of you listen to Dane Cook, this reminded me of the ice cream cone skit he does.

I'm amazed and disappointed that anyone here would try to justify an adult stranger striking a baby in the face multiple times.
When I was a kid, if we screwed up big time, a neighbor might give us a pop on the butt and send us home. And by the time we got home, they'd have already called our parents to tell them what happened... and damn if you wouldn't get it again from Dad!But this is different. I don't give a flying fuck if the baby threw a rattle at his head or if the woman told him his mother was a $5 crack whore, what he did was outrageous! There's nothing more to tell - it wouldn't matter. How the hell does an adult think it's OK to hit a baby in the face?! End of story!
I was always taught to respect my elders. But in this case, I would have probably snapped if I'd seen this happen... and there would have been a cleanup on aisle 5: "old man down & out - get a mop for the blood and call the meat wagon."

Sounds to me like he was just some old grumpy guy annoyed by the crying baby,I doubt there is really anything other than that brought it on.I won't say he should do 10 years for it,he didn't severly hurt the child but he should get punished enough so that he gets that is just not going to be tolerated.

Yeah, I didn't get that part either. If it had been a Walmart employee who hit the baby, then sure. But what did this have to do with Walmart, other than it happend at a Walmart? It could have just as easily happened on an airplane or in a McDonalds.

A stranger can't hit a stranger's child, ever. This guy - regardless of the circumstances - needs to do time. No argument there. I am merely suggesting that we don't get all the facts in many news stories. Yeah, throw this guy in prison, for sure. It just seems like a weird story. Maybe the lady was vulgar and even violent towards this man...maybe she even purposefully made her child do violent acts to this old creep. I've heard of (and seen) a lot of bizarre things growing up.
Again, this is all speculation. I want this guy thrown in prison, but if the parent of this other kid was in any way violent, throw her ass in prison too. :wave2:
Also, are you not aware of the NAACP and other groups who are so powerful they can regulate what and how we receive certain information? Aren't they the ones who have a ranking list of all companies regarding racial issues in all walks of life? I know for a fact that they have lobbied to have the race of criminals on news outlets at various levels cencured. That is a fact for sure.

I so wish you had stopped when you were behind - cause the more you explain, the worse it gets. Can you explain how a 2 year old could pose any sort of violent threat to an adult? We live in a civil society, people are not permitted to carry on and yell and make a scene and disrupt other people trying to go about their business because they are emotionally unstable and demand someone else to take care of their needs. Really, what kind of a message does that say to kids? That's why the world is such a shitty place, because people have no regard for others and everyone says "It's OK" because they are too afraid of confrontation.
And then these same kids grow up to be shitty parents and allow their own kids to turn out exactly the same way.

Maybe these parents are really not to blame and thier children are just chemically imbalanced from too many microwaves and toxic chemicals floating around in the air... in that case, leave the kid at home. Hire a baby sitter or leave the other parent home. If you can't afford one or you are a single parent, then you probably shouldn't be out on a shopping spree.

From what Wile E posted, I only knew the guy was White because I saw his picture. Is the mother Black or Hispanic? If so, how did you find that info? Where did you find that info? I saw nowhere in that article where race was mentioned & actually could care less what race the 'VICTIMS' were. Guy was lucky that the bystander only decided to hold him down until security arrived & not beat his old ass down. They showed more compassion to a possibly 'disturbed':dunno: 61 year old than was shown this 2 year old.
WalMart Supercenters are usually around 60,000 sq. feet or so & the old man couldn't find anywhere else to go if the child was that annoying? I normally go at 3 or 4 in the morning(after work) to avoid huge overcrowding & the occasional crying or badly behaved children(which is normal).
You have to be really obssesssed with race & have very SERIOUS issues with minorities to go out of one's way to find out the race of the Victims & THEN try to blame them for the attack.
