Apparently she agreed to write some articles for InsideSTL (she was introduced but never actually wrote an article). If you read this, it mentions that she wanted to write about the industry because it would be "therapeutic" - which to me suggests that it wasn't exactly an enjoyable experience. This is a surprise coming from her, as she dropped out of higher paying mainstream modelling and ditched college just to do porn.
In an interview with Hustler from 2006 she stated her intention to go into mainstream movies, but the fact that she not only gave up porn, but all her other dreams as well, really gives me the impression that something went incredibly tits up.
If she did fall in love, she'd be unlikely to lock herself away from the world, so why did she not attend the 2008 AVN Awards, despite winning in 2 categories?
While I currently cannot know for certain, looking at the little evidence we have, it seems rape is one of the most realistic reasons she left porn. It's either that or she actually realised it's (mostly) a very seedy industry which seemingly promotes sexual violence to mentally slow people.
