Spider-Man getting a Reboot !

Not excited more a x-men guy personally. Also didnt help that spider man 2 and 3 where sub par.
I mean marvel have other franchises like punisher warzone was quality. If only they would focus on the other ones instead like a captain america, thor or silver surfer movie. Yea I know apparantly they are making them but damn been saying that for ages now

Not that big of a Spiderman fan but I could see them doing something like this :dunno:
Wow...I honestly didn't see that coming. I loved Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker but he's not a *** anymore and the way they bloated everything in the last movie I understand why they wanted a fresh start. I just hope they bring people in that actually give a **** about the character and the world he lives in. Wait and see I guess.
Way too early for a re-boot... The first two were pretty good, after watching the third they should have just quit.
They should have rebooted the series with the 2nd movie IMO, which was absolutely horrible, then 3 came out and made things even worse.
Sam Raimi just got the character of Spider-Man way too wrong. Yeah, Tobey played the timid/nerdy Peter Parker side fairly well I guess, but when Peter Parker puts on his Spider-Man mask he should be a wise-cracking/sarcastic/witty jackass that irritates the hell out of his enemies. Instead we got a deadpan Spider-Man, which was surprising considering Sam Raimi's Evil Dead films with the wise-cracking Ash. Also, the villains were portrayed as way too tragic or sympathetic for my tastes. Out of all the villains they had, Harry Osborn/Green Goblin II should have been the only one who had a chance of actually being redeemed.
And as for Spider-Man 3....well, that again completely warrants a reboot. They destroyed Spider-Man's entire motivation for being a hero essentially and fucked up Venom at the same time. Personally though, I like the fact that they're going back to high school, and I hope they get a young up and coming actor like with the upcoming movie Kick-Ass and its main character to play Spider-Man, that way you can actually show him grow from a teenager to an adult superhero in multiple sequels like in the comic itself.
They just need to go back to the comic's roots and everything should be cool.

Not much of an opion on this. Never been big into comics. However I choose 3 only cause there was no option for What? Already?. Best thing about the Spiderman movies.... Bruce Campbell.
I think the problem with completely rebooting Spider-Man in the comics is the fact that you'd have to reboot everything else as well to fit the timeline, Marvel couldn't and shouldn't do that, unlike DC where they have no problems shaking things up. I don't keep up with comics that much any more outside of checking up on the storylines every once in awhile, but from what I've heard some of the Marvel Adventures Spider-Man comics are essentially classic Spidey stories for fans who could do without all the baggage like One More Day and stuff like that.

Bad move by Sony. I think the flicks were great Spider-Man 3 could have been better.

I'm starting to care less and less for the films they make out of Superheroes, although a few to come interest me. The studios seem to screw things up after a while and then the word 'Reboot' comes along. Just like Superman after 'Superman Returns' and the Nolan Batman films, which IMO demystified everything and ****** it. Even the comics themselves sometimes go left field but there are so many stories from the choose from the comics that if I really want to get into a superhero, I'll just follow that instead of waiting for a film that wants to make it the be all and end all of the said hero. With reboots becoming fashionable, it gets saturated fast. Follow the comics! Can't wait for the 'Walking Dead' tv series though.
They should have tried Cntrl+Alt+Delete first.
