Yes, the focus is not on one single crime and mnisdemeanor. That is, because Trump is breaking not only one law.
Regarding the proclaimations that he will be in prison any day soon... you've got a point. That is a bit of wishful thinking. These things take years.
If you want to know about the actual facts, you could watch the hearings. Yes, that takes time, I watched it live, and I thus know how much damning evidence there already is, without including the phone transcrpts, etc. And there will be emails included, which will add further proof.
If you were to invest some more time and effort to find out more than just the headlines and vines, you wwould see things clearer.
I think that the impeachment will take into a possible second term, or things can get so blatant, that he may lose the 2020 election.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s office contacted U.S. Attorney John Durham, the prosecutor Barr personally tapped to lead a separate review of the 2016 probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, the people said. The inspector general also contacted several U.S. intelligence agencies.
Among Horowitz’s questions: whether a Maltese professor who interacted with a Trump campaign adviser was actually a U.S. intelligence asset deployed to ensnare the campaign, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the inspector general’s findings have not been made public.

Haha. Yeah. That's what they call the "presumption of innocence" that we practice here in our American proceedings. Not everyone has it, nor understands it. You see, an accuser must present an accusation, and evidence (this one may be too much for you, in one lesson - we'll come back to it), in order to assign wrongdoing to a person, in our American system. Chinese diplomats take to Twitter to trash talk Trump
Chinese diplomats are taking a page out of Trump’s book and delivering brutal commentary about him and what he is doing to America on their Twitter accounts.
Trump has delivered some mean tweets towards China himself, saying, “We don’t need China, and frankly, would be far better off without them.”
But recently, Chinese diplomat Lijian Zhao has fired back. In one tweet, he said, “Although China is not rich, we can buy US a mirror. However, I hope US may not look at it before going to bed, otherwise it may suffer from nightmares.”
While the language is often couched in terms that don’t directly attack Trump, it’s clear this twitter onslaught is in direct response to Trump’s trash talking China.
For instance, one Zhao tweet about “Racial discrimination, gun violence” in America asserts, “there is no hope of solving them in the context of social & political polarization in US.” It is pretty obvious who Zhao is dissing here.
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his diplomats to have a “fighting spirit” on Twitter. While the social media platform is ironically banned in China, government officials with access have no problem dunking on some of the practices in America.
Pakistan embassy secretary Wang XianFeng tweeted, “The police of the world, the US #HumanRights conditions: the black Americans are violently treated by white policemen.”
China is a repressive dictatorship, with cruel treatment of the Muslim Uighurs in western China and a violent response to the riots in Hong Kong.
But whatever is the best strategy for engaging with China on human rights, it certainly does not revolve around crude public tweets by any President, let alone one as ignorant and mean-spirited as Donald Trump.
