Sky News

I guess Sky news is the UK version of Fox News

one based in London, one based in New York... but basically
the same company ... owned and masterminded by
Rupert Murdoch

Next week: Why cheeseburgers are bad for you.

Right wing BS that is News Corp, they keep you scared, keep you angry so you keep on supporting the war (on terror) and they keep on making profit from covering these wars. Simples. They make a fortune on the back of all these anti-islamic 'stories' (The Sun newspaper) yet barely report on the bankers and politicians who have ruined SO MANY peoples lives.

I actually didn't know anything about Sky...not that I needed to. I live in Illinois so...yeah...Not sure where to go from here...

SKY probably is the most watered down and tabloidesque version of television news you're going to come across on UK TV (and yes I am also taking Channel 5 News into account here). I wouldn't say they are completely alike, the bias isn't as immediately apparent on SKY as it is on FOX. That's one thing, I guess. But then again that might just be because of the British accents - pure unadulterated evil always sounds better and is more palatable when spoken aloud by a British person. That's just the way it is.

Major Garrett is leaving (or has left) FOX News for the National Journal. He said he wants to - QUOTE:
"Talk less and think more".

yes sky news is kept non controversial its presenters dont
really have personalities they just read the telescript.

whereas fox news are controversial..... they were cheerleaders for
the Iraq war O reilley is on a power trip
Glen Beck thinks he is the second coming...

Did Lou Dobbs get the push ? he was about the only normal
straight talking guy on there !

It must be like the Star Wars movies where almost everybody that was an officer with the Empire had a British accent.

...of course the rebels spoke pure American accented goodness. :yesyes: ;)

Except Obi-Wan of course. ;)

But yes you're right, the people of Britain are all worse than Hitler.

I would agree with those points. Sky News is more of a tabloid interested in showbiz and entertainment rather than "news" but they are nowhere near the level of Fox for controversy or laughability.

The one exception could be Kay Burley, but to be fair that's more becuase she is a fucking dimwit rather than a purposely controversial or antagonistic like Beck or O'Reilly.

Glen Beck, love him or hate him, at least the management
at fox news give him his head and let him prepare his
own programme and air his own opinions... often contraversial..

On sky news we just see so many parrots reading the auto cue
its pathetic really, but thats Britain in the 21 st century...
a pc .. controlled state with cameras on every corner
and a controlled media and controlled pc political parties

It aint gonna change any time soon !

It's good to be the king...
Remember when Sky News political editor Adam Boulton lost his rag with Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell, during the General Election?

SKY News is a great advert for the Beeb, imo....

I miss Sky news, but just for the weather reports. There was one weather man who had a wonderfully dry sense of humour about the terrible weather in the U.K. It isn't that often that you can laugh at something as mundane as the weather report:)

As opposed to left wing asshat news which ignores islamic terror and beats up the Jews/Israel.

Now I see. Thanks.:hatsoff:

Why save the world, when you can rule it?

Correct.
We need a revolution.

Banned?
Maybe I can persuade The Sun to start a petition against Sky News?...

That's what I look for in a weather man. A dry sense of humor lol

Well Murdoch (NewsCorp) actually only own a 39% share of Sky, although he's apparently trying to gobble up the rest.

There's laws in place here that prevent tv news being covered with excessive bias, unlike our newspapers. However apparently Murdoch is trying to get this watered down in return for backing the Tories in the recent election. So Fox News Uk could be on the way
