Re: Should I start working on my next script already a work in progress, before Bday
Okay there are no "million dollar" porn movies. Around 2005 Pirates was proclaimed to have a million dollar budget, in reality it was around 150 grand. They might have made that money back if there wasn't any pirating. But then they went on to make a sequel for, and what they claim to be a 8 million dollar budget. Now, historically... porn producers are the cheapest people around, they hardly pay the talent, so do you honestly believe they're going to drop 8 million dollars on a sequel where the first only cost 150 grand?
This is called creative accounting and outright lying. Sounds like the producer got a new house and a cheap sequel. In addition, they're not going to pay the writer anything, this is not Caligula from 1979 with Bob Guccione money. No one goes to the theater anymore to watch a porn like Debbie Does Dallas or Deep Throat. The internet and am-porn has shot the main stream industry in the foot and the LA City council didn't help things recently.
Try short stories without a porn theme to start, if you're truly a writer, don't pigeon hole yourself into a specific genre. And if you don't know what that mean, you're not a writer. Real writers are the whores, we do things and work projects for money and 80% of the time, WGAF about the project. Spit and polish the pig and get it out the door for the client so they're happy.
Read between these lines and you're realize what I'm saying.
