Shirley Temple dead at 85

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Other than the time in college that I sucked some helium from a balloon and sang "On the Good Ship Lollipop" (you just don't know...), I've never had any connection to or fondness for Shirley Temple. But she was a real icon of another age and I know that a lot of people adored her. And she really did represent an innocence (fake or not) that we no longer have today.

So, Shirley Temple Black, R.I.P. :hatsoff:

Back in the days before thousands of cable or satellite channels, your average American city had ABC, NBC, CBS, possibly PBS and, if you were lucky, an independent station or two. These stations would show Shirley Temple, Tarzan, the Bowery Boys, Abbott & Costello, the Marx Brothers and other old movies from the 30s and 40s that you simply don't see much anymore. Shirley was not only as cute as a button but she could sing and dance and was a terrific actress for a little ***. Incredibly talented and a tremendous success in her adult life as well. R.I.P. Shirley....:******:

PS- She's listed in the "Babe" section??? Oh well....:dunno:
