Serbian film is the sickest movie i ever seen

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
so...is there lots of sex? I really don't care about that so much as the violence. And it better be graphic as fuck! Not the sex the violence. I thrive on gore in film, it really is quite sad. But it can make or break the film depending on the plot.

Sickest movie I've ever seen? Really? I somehow doubt I'll even once flinch.

Banned?
Those of you who haven't seen it yet don't have any idea just how bad this is.

It covers every banned subject in the FO rules in a very graphic way.

I don't wanna spoil anything, but make sure you watch the uncut version, which can be found on the net. All in all 4 minutes were cut, but they were the most brutal moments of the film. And it isn't just graphic sex and gore, it is truly MINDFUCKING shit.

Take away all the gore and sex and it is still actually a very well put together film. It does have a message, I'm sure. That message is probably "Don't go to Serbia".

Banned?
Dude I've been there nearly 100 times. :why:

I'm joking, don't take it so seriously. Obviously I don't think this kind of thing actually happens all the time.

It's one of those movies that make you feel dirty just for having watched it. I think the most surprising thing about this film is just how well made it is. Given what will invariably be classified beside it within the ridiculously named sub-genre known as "torture porn" this film comes across as highly accomplished in comparison.

I'm not quite sure I buy the "it's a political allegory" angle the director spun the film with upon its initial release. Of course it's there if you've been prompted enough to look for it and if you have a cursory knowledge of Serbian history. But it seems to me to be nothing more than a director covering his own ass by playing up the controversy surrounding the film in an attempt to thrust some level of artistic reverence upon it.

I could be wrong, of course.

ehhhh. looks like 8mm mixed with hostel. boring.

In a very generic way, you can say that. But the truth is that it was a really well done, interesting movie that's much more than a mashup of those two It's anything but boring even if you have no interest in the gore. There's much better acting and directing than anything Eli Roth has ever done...by a mile. If the baby scene and one of the more hardcore scenes would have been cut from the beginning, I guarantee that people would be talking about it in a much different, more positive way.

I watched it after reading spoilers, but still was cautious. I didn't want to see anything that would fuck up my mood for days. I watched the baby scene (the scene I most dreaded) and it was so fake looking that it was able to be effective for the plot, but without blurring the line of reality and movie making.

The near to last reveal scene gets a lot of attention too, but it's not graphic, it's implied. I can't say more than that without spoiling anything, but you don't actually see what's being depicted.

The reason I "like" this movie is because it goes over the top at times, but there's no doubt that this shit really doesn't go on all over the world. And that's more horrific than any Jason Vorhees or Freddy Krueger. It actually made me question the species.

Oddly enough, I downloaded it in 8 parts off of YouTube. It got shut down the day after. I'd probably watch it again if I wasn't too lazy to figure out how to connect 8 flv files into one.

The director of Life and Death of a Serbian Porno Gang also said his film was a political allegory. Unlike A Serbian Film, it was a total piece of shit. But I believe neither's claim. It's marketing and justification. Nothing more.

Political allegory for what's happened holds as much water as the idea that Hostel mirrors Slovakian history/culture. It is a marketing tool meant for an audience who are supposed to be mystified by ancient musty byzantine Serbian history.
You want Serb history in a nutshell:

Getting drunk on beer and schlivo while singing out of tune to an old song about an old battle centuries ago.

or

A gruff bearded poet reciting a old Serbian poem while chain smoking cigs and swilling schlivo and Turkish coffee.
