Secret Welfare Programs

This applies to most countries, and a lot if not most of the people don't need it.
I'm not a fan of welfare, because most people on welfare, even the average handicapped person can do some work, even if it's only working from home, using a computer or phone.
There should be stricter laws and checks, so that welfare only goes to people who really need it.

There is a gigantic difference between theoretically in some best case hypothetical imaginary semi-fantasy world scenario of there maybe being work somebody in the absolute most technical sense is able to achieve and maybe that job if they are lucky somehow providing them with a living wage and...

...those jobs actually being available.

Which in the real word they're not. In case you haven't noticed there isn't infinity number of jobs out there that people can get. Every job also isn't available over an infinite range of skill levels and physical demands that need to be done. They certainly don't all pay what's needed for a decent standard of life. It's hard enough for in shape healthy people that are very intelligent to get a decent job.

I still don't get how the same people who say that the economy is for **** and the politicians/administration/etc. haven't done enough to improve things are the same people who say that everyone on welfare is a leech who could get a job tomorrow if they put down the Doritos and went looking for one.

Leave the Doritos out of this..

I sort of agree with the idea of lots of people on welfare not deserving it. I didn't look at the link and I'm not going to, I don't need a link to offer my opinion on the matter.

I have a couple examples:

- My one ex's *** was a psycho who was on unemployment for years. It would always be some excuse, like she hurt her arm while she was getting dressed (how on earth you hurt you arm while putting on a shirt, I have no clue) or having been bitten by a dog. She managed to stay on unemployment for so damn long, it's insane, every time I saw her she was walking around, driving, smoking, screaming at someone (usually me or her ***). She could've gotten a job, whether it was as a delivery driver, cashier, whatever.

- This girl that worked as a waitress for a few months at the Pizza Hut I managed at was the most awful employee ever. Constantly late, bitching and moaning at every single little thing, questioning her authorities about tasks assigned to her, cocking attitudes, texting on her phone during busy hours. She eventually quit, thank god, but called back a few days after she quit asking if she could come back to work for at least 2 days a week, specifically saying that if she didn't have some sort of job, her unemployment would be cut. That if it didn't look like she was looking for a job or trying, she wouldn't get her unemployment checks.

There are plenty of people who deserve it and plenty of people who don't.

Something that bugs me is all the homeless people in NY begging for money, whether it be on the street or in the subways. I've seen the same exact people in the subways countless times, wearing nice clothes and always claiming to have the same sob story, that they got fired from their job, have a ***, are hungry, and are just looking for something to eat and some money to get a hotel room so they don't have to ***** outside. Ok.... I've given spare change and dollar bills to some of the homeless folks, but it's only when I think they truly need it- when it's an extremely smelly guy stinking up an entire room and you can smell him from 50 feet away, when he has **** for clothes on his bones, and when he's not being annoying and making announcements about it. There is no excuse not to join a shelter or at least look for a job if you at least have decent clothes and shoes on your feet. No excuse whatsoever. There is no good reason why I should see the same exact ****** and her 10 year old *** on the subway multiple times over the course of a year, always having decent clothes on.

I'm also not one to bitch about paying taxes. Because in reality, no one has to pay taxes if you know what the hell you're doing. File your taxes. Save all your receipts for the entire year and keep tabs on your bank statement. The more tax you claim, the more you'll get back. Look through when and how much you've spent on phone bills, rent, and other utilities throughout the course of a year, and claim that when you file your taxes, and guess what? That's money that you're not being taxed on. The more you claim, the less you pay. I **** hearing people bitch about other people leeching off welfare and ****, saying they don't want their taxes from their hard earned money going to that. Well, file your taxes right and you won't pay any taxes at all.

I always laugh when I see folks grocery shopping with food stamps buying **** like shrimp, lobster, porterhouse steaks-LOL. Or sitting up in the welfare office wearing a $350 pair of Jordans. Or pulling up to the Charitable Union for a handout in a Cadillac or BMW-LOL. Don't say you have never seen this before.

Here in Michigan alot of fast food chains are now accepting food stamps. KFC, Papa Murphy's Pizza, and many others. I do not agree with this.

That's a bit extreme, but for once, I agree with you.

I'm just saying the government could do a much better job of stopping Welfare/UI/Medicare Fraud and getting the money to the people who actually need it.
And I think that most honest people, even handicapped, would rather earn money working than sit at home doing nothing and leeching off taxes.

This doesn't affect me, but a lot of people who really need the money aren't getting it because of the aholes frauding the system.

Where do you go to apply for this "old guy too tired and sore to work" welfare?
I'm tired and sore enough, and really wanna spend a few months (OK,years) watching DVDs from Redbox and ******** Dr Pepper.
(And for income supplement I can probably find some cardboard, and I still have some rudimentary writing skills. I'll wear my FOs cap, wave when you drive by!))

Thanks to all who will be supporting my future lifestyle and Dr Pepper addiction!

I'm not quite sure, but you've got to be really, really skilled at manipulation.

New York cop who toured with band charged with disability fraud
By Barbara Goldberg, Reuters

NEW YORK — A New York police officer was charged on Tuesday with mail fraud for allegedly claiming disability benefits for two years while at the same time performing and touring with his heavy metal band, "****** Sleaze," according to court documents. Christopher Inserra, an officer with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, was the lead singer with the Brooklyn band, whose "Sick Maniacs" album features such songs as "Infection" and "Walk of Shame," according to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn.

Inserra, 31, of Brooklyn was charged with mail fraud in connection with a scheme to defraud the American ****** Life Assurance Company of New York (AFLAC) out of $30,416 in disability payments. He claimed he was out sick with a work-related injury from June 2010 until March 2012, filing for disability while continuing to collect his $90,000 annual salary, according to court documents.

The officer claimed he hurt his right arm, causing excruciating pain and loss of mobility, while transporting a Port Authority contractor to a hospital, according to the documents. Those two years were filled with visits to doctors as well as performance dates for his band "****** Sleaze" in northeast bars and on a "Miles of Mayhem" tour through the mid-Atlantic and Southeast, said U.S. Postal Inspector John McDermott in a signed affidavit filed in court.

Video footage of "****** Sleaze" performances posted to Facebook, Youtube and other websites show the muscular lead singer in a tank top showing off well-toned arms gripping a microphone and slashing the air, McDermott said. The inspector saw Inserra on stage "flailing both of his arms in a rapid back and forth fashion," pumping away to the beat, and also "repeatedly and violently flailing his right arm in an up and down fashion from above his head to slightly above the ground level."

He said the "flailing of his right arm ... would be inconsistent with the degree of pain and discomfort that he complained of."

Inserra, who had served with the Port Authority for five years, was most recently assigned to the World Trade Center Command in Manhattan, the complaint said. After his initial court appearance, during which he did not enter a plea, he was released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond, said U.S. Attorney Robert Nardoza.

Inserra's attorney, Jan Rostal, declined to comment.

Inserra was suspended without pay pending resolution of his case, said Michael Nestor, director of the Office of Investigations overseeing the Port Authority.

A stricter screening process is definitely in order. Let's see help go to the people who really need it and stop wasting $$$ on the free loaders.

I think it all boils down to FIA employees not doing their job. I personally know someone(married male) who makes $80,000+ a year not including his wife's income and not only receives yamps but get's the max benefit. Meanwhile my ****** with 2 **** gets completely cut off because her ***** support income was raised $75? FIA evidently are not running SS#'s when they should be.

STEP #1 Audit Everyone and actually check the information provided. This would cut fraud by at least 50%
