If you want an amendment overturned, do it through the legal system. You're not going to overturn Roe v. Wade by killing physicians. It's too bad this guy didn't get the chair. Life in prison is just too good for some people...
An interesting comment, considering that Mr. Roeder thought that he was actually administering a death penalty for what he saw as Dr. Tiller's crimes.

I don't care what he thinks, and I don't care what he stands for. He's a guilty son of a bitch who should have fried in the electric chair. His opinion and now his entire existence are irrelevant. I'm intolerant of people like that. As I said before, if you disagree with legislation, use the courts to overturn it. Senseless killings of medical personnel don't change anything. It's a very unproductive way of accomplishing your goal.

Dr. George Tiller didn't commit any crimes. What he did was legal. Mr. Roeder claims to be against murder, but then killed another human being. He can't have it both ways. :2 cents:

It was the correct verdict. Had he been tried in NC he would have been sentenced to execution by lethal injection. I had to witness an execution a few years ago. I support the death penalty but afterwards I went to a hotel and drank scotch for 2 days and slept. It is something very surreal to witness and I do not wish to do it again. For a myriad of reasons.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I definitely agree with the GUILTY verdict, however I think that the notion of the essential justice of the death penalty ("an eye for an eye") was an underlying, motivating factor in why Roeder felt that he should kill Tiller. He felt that the law was unjust, and it wasn't going to become just soon enough, so he took it upon himself to mete out "justice" - and he, like you, believes in the death penalty for the crime of murder.
That's all I'm saying.

Good for him. He's taken down one doctor - only thousands remain. Someone will replace Tiller and the practice will continue. As I said, Roeder accomplished nothing. Legislation is not amended because of violence. Nobody, apart from the victim's family, will remember this in ten years . Meanwhile, he'll rot in prison and hopefully be routinely sodomized.
