No it didn't. A legislative body's job is to write, discuss, pass and reject legislation; when those exact things happened you expressed a desire to see civilians ******ed. How does that make sense with your supposed answer?

Then surely you would be more supportive of elective abortions, which are generally privately done, than of contraception, which is available through taxpayer-funded programs? You can't oppose the private one on tax grounds.

They do though. An unsustainable embryo is an unsustainable embryo. Every cell in a living body is "alive", even the ones you sneeze out. To say that a bundle of unformed organs, a collection of stem cells that cannot actually survive by itself is a "baby" is a ridiculous stretch--just like calling an unlaid egg a chicken, or like any of your arguments.

I've posted my feelings on abortion before and they lean more to the practical than the theological.

What actually gets me more than the abortion debate is the people who speak so definitely one way or the other. I'm envious in one sense that maybe they have figured our all of the moral pitfalls and really have a handle on it. If I'm honest with myself, I just think they're lazy, have plopped their brains on a decision and aren't going to worry about the moral implications. I happen to think no matter where you fall on this one, thee is some ugliness on your side. That includes me and where I've plopped my brain on the matter.

If you're not concerned with the moral implications of what you support on this topic, then I don't think you have an understanding. Life is messy.

Damn straight, buddy. And messy is how come most people stop worrying about the grey areas, like is it ok to abort a 20 week fetus? Hell, I don't think so, but I have to fuck with someone's free space and self determination to intervene in pregnancy termination. If Doctors refuse to abort viable 4 and 5 month fetus', will the idiot crack whore **** herself AND the unborn baby through an underground procedure, or just a **** overdose? That ****s the baby just as surely. And when a ****** will most likely ***** to death from a birth or C section, is it her choice to choose who dies?
Some ******* give their lives for their *****ren born or not, some want the baby removed and to live no matter what.
How does society choose which is acceptable? And is it possible to make a line anywhere, the closer it gets to possible ***** viability given the likelihood any preemie will survive? That is never a given, even with high Dollar modern incubation and post-natal care.

so what about cases where a young girl is ****d by someone suffering from an STI? She falls pregnant, the ***** when born will suffer from birth defects as a result of the STI it is now carrying and will be requiring constant care and attention from the ****** and ******. Now this poor girl has a constant reminder of her ordeal. The ***** as a result of the birth defects will not be able to lead a full and active life either and when the inevitable questions come about who its *** is the ****** will either have to lie, or to tell the ***** the whole awful truth about its conception which im sure would not be pleasant for the ****** or *****.

Whereas, within hours of finding out she is pregnant to a vile ****** who took her innocence away from her, she can go to a clinic, take just two little pills and within a couple of hours all this is avoided and she can go on with trying to rebuild her life.

I would never wish this one someone else, but i fear that it would take something like this happening to someone close to you before you realised the ignorance of your views. But I hope you never have to, but maybe if you just opened your narrow mind from time to time you may start to think differently.
