There is nothing wrong with taxation and taxation on porn. There is nothing wrong with attempting to do some sort of age-check. There is nothing wrong with society separating adults and minors in society. While sex ed is demonized in public education and while teen births soar, education and open discussion does not imply consent of behavior.
It is incredible naivete to think that the GOP will simply view porn as "a business enterprise" and protect it and cherish it like they protect and cherish Wall St. Foolish, foolish to believe otherwise.
The porn fans that view adult entertainment women as whores, sluts, skanks and trash on this site or on other boards, if we did a political test--what political persuasion will these people most likely be? Conservative or Liberal? How many Democrats try to convert pornstars to Christianity? Which political party wants to do away with same sex marriage? The GOP believes there is no difference between morality and freedom. They are one and the same, essentially. GOP values are "American values" and therefore they are meant to be spread across the nation and across the world, according to them.
Now, obviously, shutting down the porn biz is not high on the priority list. It's most likely #50 on the agenda, but by the time they get to #50, what kind of bankrupt shell of a nation will be left to even care about porn?:dunno: Dumbass GOP financial decisions will destroy the nation and that will take down the porn biz, which is basically happening now, I guess. It would be quite simple for the GOP to monitor and shutdown internet porn sites.
The Coakley story is more about the people of Massachusetts already having a better health care plan/having ****** reform in 2006 than what is even circling D.C. The people of Mass voted to send this schmuck to D.C. to protect themselves since he will certainly work to derail Washington's reform.
Well, Washington Dems need to go in a further left direction and implement procedural rules to bypass the filibuster threat (in the Senate) and let the House run the show, basically, since the House can get things ******.
It's time for Obama and the Dems to completely stop continuing Dubya's agenda. No more wars. No more gulags--release the Gitmo captives back to their home countries (if there isn't any evidence to get convictions--there isn't any evidence to convict anybody). No more US tax payers paying to keep people in prison indefinitely. Go back to Green Initiatives and moving the country away from fossil fuels. The cost of gas at the pump is only going back to $4-$5. Get ahead of the public screams over that by getting the nation ACTUALLY ON the green road.
I get the sense that the Dems are simply waiting for the economy/jobs to get better. It's time to start doing more to get job creation going. The way to do that is Going Green
