I like this thread because it doesn't have a curfew and it keeps regular hours.
Enough of that for now.
I come here posting, friends, to give recognition to AFA. Besides continually gracing us with "Metart" and amateur models and assisting many of us in the identifation of those we have submitted, AFA is also in possession of a delightful sense of humor that also reveals that there is considerable intellect within "the man behind the bomber."
Just within this past week (which, in fact, is still in progress; however, given the way this reply has been going, one may not be to extravagant to invoke the scriptural ...and it came to pass... ) AFA had figuratively broke the exalted "1000 rep point" milestone—I should say figurative milestone, as we're not so sure that any of his actions—figurative or otherwise— correspond to the "English" system (as we in the U.S. occasionally refer to it) as opposed to the metric system (which the English, by the way, never, never refer to as the "U.S." system), and for that matter, if it were actually made of stone or some other material is one that has yet to be resolved. This is usually the part of the conversation where I stand there looking off into the distance and say "Now where was I..." Yes, now I remember, AFA just acquired his 1000th rep-point (and wasn't satisfied with just that, either) and deservingly so that he did recieve the recognition from the membership for having reached (and surpassed) that achievement. And if anyone were to say that they perhaps observed a slight alteration of his customary genial nature due to this recent achievement, well, I'll say right now that I didn't notice. Sure, maybe I was like that too, after I surmounted the 10-rep mark, but no one said a thing to me about it!
Yes, all around, AFA is a great guy, and we've become quite acquainted in the past few weeks, to such extent that on occassion I've went so far as call him "A."
That brings up another issue, of which I invite other members of this board to offer their suggestions. While having stated previously as being well-acquainted with AFA, and therefore one would easily understand the reasons for waiving formality in our correspondence, there still persists some confusion as to precisely which "A" I am calling him by! "A" by itself maybe alright—if it were his first name I had utilized—but if it were his last name, well, then addressing this person who is well in excess of 1000 "rep-points" such an unadorned thing seems a little brusque—perhaps too formal—after all, he's the one with four digits worth of "rep-points," not me; maybe in that instance—that I had been calling him by his last name (though not with any malicious intent, I must assure), the "A" should be prefaced with a courtesy title suggesting his eminence ("Mr.," "Senator," "Attorney-General," "Admiral," "Moderator," etc.) Any assistance that the membership would care to offer to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated.
