Almost two years ago, in April 2011, Sasha Grey announced her retirement from the porn industry. It was a very sad statement for her many, many fans and for the industry itself. But she's a porn icon and will always remain so. And today is a special day for Sasha, it's her 25th birthday! Congratulations!

As everyone knows Sasha Grey started in the porn industry when she was barely 18, in the spring 2006, when she moved from Sacramento to LA. And she started with a bang - her first scene was an orgy scene with Rocco Siffredi in Stagliano's "The Fashionistas #2". It's like a rocket ship start to the moon on the first attempt. The rest is porn history. From 2006 to her retirement she was (perhaps) the most prominent porn star, who also attracted much attention outside the industry.
She has won 7 AVN Awards, the finest of them of course "Female Performer of the Year" (2008). She has performed in approximately 220 DVD releases + lots of website scenes. And compilations with Sasha Grey will always be released, everything else is unthinkable considering her star quality.
Her role in Steven Soderbergh's "The Girlfriend Experience" is of course the most renowned in her attempt to succeed in mainstream film. It's an open question how her future will look like, but it will be interesting to see what happens, she has an extraordinary ability to surprise, she's very talented and smart and she is in many ways an enigma.
