Sasha Grey visits elementary school to do story time with first graders

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "face of porn". That's why I asked, and only shifty answered, "Do you have a problem solely with Sasha?" You seem to think that everyone knows who she is. I would hazard to guess that most people don't, and the ones that do are pretty heavy into porn. Should you be excluded from interacting with kids based on your participation in this forum?

It's not about just Sasha, but she just so happens to be amongst the most recognizable pornstars in the world today. That is what I mean by the face of porn. Now, should I be excluded from interacting with kids?

No, but if a parent thought because I interact with people at this forum, and thought I may not be suitable for interacting with their child because of this... I can EASILY accept that. It's the same thing with someone who you know drinks or smokes, or even is closely associated with other people whose lifestyle goes against what's safe or acceptable with children. I am a firm believer of being more discriminating of people for this purpose. As I've said in a previous post, my own family members are subject to this as well.

Fact is, I do not directly represent porn or FreeOnes. This is not my occupation or indicative of the lifestyle I lead. Even with that, I accept the in's and out's of what of what the forum is, and what my participation may or may not say to others. Isn't that why none of us use our real names here to begin with? Some people do live a more sexually open lifestyle and want their info out there, but as for the rest of us... we don't put our real life out there for a reason, don't we?

That's not unreasonable. I know people who home-school their kids because the public school system is "too liberal". Parents have every right to raise hell about whatever they see fit when it comes to raising their children. I think it's a bit of an over-reaction, particularly given the fact that Sasha is retired from porn and wasn't in any way promoting pornography or acting inappropriately, but I can appreciate your position.

My whole stance is: who gave anyone the right to put a pornstar in front of my child? As I said before, I do not believe there is any room for porn and children to go together for any reason. I would not send my child to school knowing a pornstar is there. You could retired, done with, exonerated, or whatever from a whole lot of activities, but it absolutely does not mean you are a suitable person to be around kids, and Sasha's extensive participation in porn as an occupation and lifestyle, makes her grossly unsuitable for group child interaction, IMPO.

What a cluster fuck. She probably did it to stir up this argument on weather porn stars can be good mothers, Either that or she is declaring that she is ready to have some herself.

I dont see the big deal. She's retired and is doing mainstream films. Does this mean she can't ever talk to kids? Does the fact that i write about porn and interview porn stars can't talk to children. It's stupid. She's actually really sweet and smart in person.

Sasha Grey was not there representing the porn industry, or her porn-star image. She was reading children's books because she apparently cares about kids and education.

Ummm...yeah....I wish I could really believe that. It just reeks to much of a publicity stunt.

The problem with your whole stance is, this is not a right you give. This is a right that you are never, ever, ever allowed to take away. :nono: And down deep, you know this.

You seem to be missing the point: SHE IS THE FACE OF PORNOGRAPHY! This is what she represents. Porn. Anyone that thinks a direct representative of porn belongs in a classroom with kids needs help. Why in almighty hell would you want the face of a product that is illegal for the viewing, consumption, and participation of minors to be anywhere as a guest to minors??? Who cares if she isn't doing porn that day... what is the point of her even showing up? Where do we draw the line?

It really is quite simple: PORN AND KIDS DO NOT GO TOGETHER IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM... PERIOD.

First, everything after your first paragraph is a total non sequitur and so ridiculous I laughed my ass off. Seriously, comparing Sasha Grey, the porn star, to Casey Anthony, the woman acquitted of killing her toddler, is completely fucking illogical. :brick:

Sadly, it is YOU who are missing the point. Sasha wasn't at the school representing the porn industry or anything other than herself as a private citizen. Please try to understand the nuance here. The "face of porngraphy," my ass. Jesus Christ, you're acting like the school brought in a hardened criminal from the local jail.

You're right about one thing -- it really is quite simple: What harm did Sasha Grey do by reading a book to kids in a classroom? How were these poor, innocent little children scarred by having to see and listen to the dirty, immoral, disgusting Sasha Grey?

You've been proceeding under the assumption that porn is evil and wicked. It's just another occupation. We can all agree that porn content is grossly inappropriate for children -- just like bloody, violent movies and video games. Right? But Sasha Grey, as I explained previously, is merely a persona that goes away when she's not on-set or making a public appearance for her studio. It may come as a complete surprise to you, but Sasha is not in character 100 percent of her day. She has hopes, dreams, outside interests that have nothing to do with sucking and fucking for living. She is merely an actress ... AN ACTRESS. A performer. An entertainer. No one, and I mean NO ONE, is saying that she should be a role model for these kids. She just wanted to do something nice. Maybe she wants to be MORE than Sasha Grey the porn star. Ever consider that? Anyone who has a hard time with THAT concept is the one who "needs help."

To what end? To rake in all the money from that coveted 4- to 7-year-old demographic?

Just because you have hopes and dreams and all that other mushy disillusioned stuff going on, does not mean you are a suitable person to be associated with children. I think you are missing that point. Based on what you have done, currently do, and what you give indication will do determines who is appropriate for child interaction.

If I'm not mistaken, you are TS/TV. If so, you represent that lifestyle.
Sasha Grey is a pornographic actress and represents that lifestyle.
She is famous from porn and is a guest because of her fame.
This is why we are even having this discussion and why cameras and media were present.

Don't give me crap about persona, because the root of that word is PERSON... meaning you. It's real easy to take things you may not like about yourself or experiences you were a part of and dismiss them and say 'that's a persona!' No, THAT'S YOU!!! That's not Sasha Grey's persona doing sexual acts on film, that is her. Call it what you want, but just because Icewater Jones is my persona, doesn't mean I am not representing my lifestyle, thoughts, ideas, and experiences through what I type here. This is me. Names and persona aside. I am, in large part, what I consistently do. I can't go out and do something, and then not claim responsibility on the grounds of I was using a persona when I did it!!!!

Fact is: nobody here is willing to draw a line. Everyone wants to be uber-politically correct until shit goes down... then they want to be all hindsight common sense about it all. This entire situation has no common sense about it. Let's not pretend that porn is just some everyday occupation. It is not. It, by it's very nature, is not even legally accessible by minors to start with. Knowing that, why would anyone bring somebody who is FAMOUS and made her name with this as a special guest to those who cannot, by law and principle, be associated with her lifestyle and occupation??? What sense does this make??? Why would anyone want their child exposed to someone that does, and is famous for doing, the very same thing you would never want your child doing???
