Sarah Palin Cancels Bus Tour

Sarah Palin canceled her "One Nation" tour and blamed it on being called for jury duty. Does anyone believe this or is this just one more thing Sarah Palin didn't see through to the end?

Well, if she in fact did get a summons for jury duty I know 'bus listening tour' wouldn't count as an excusable circumstance.:o

Maybe she's just a quitter.:dunno:

If she got a jury summons she could just ignore it as it would have been sent to her Alaskan home and she is undoubtedly out of state. You can't respond to mail you don't get due to being on vacation.

She claims she'll start touring again in a few weeks. I look forward to seeing if this happens.

You get significant advanced notice for Jury Duty, and the Palin's are rich now, which means you also have someone to open your mail for you, whether you're home or not.

It's a weird excuse. I'll give you that. But the woman has a right to cancel her bus tour for whatever reason she wants and she doesn't really owe us an explanation.

I have to side with Sarah on this.

Sounds right but I'm certain she has some way of not letting her mail stack up... Undoubtedly she has some assistant or whatever that makes sure she gets all her important mail.

That said, she could have very well been excused after the fact since she was on a well publicized bus tour.

Politically speaking, could you see how the report of her being excused from jury duty because she was on this bus tour would have played out?

So maybe there other possibilities aside from her possibly being a quitter. Maybe she's being civic minded and/or politically wise.

Either way, I don't blame her...(unless she's being a quitter again...:o).

Ah this is just an excuse so she doesn't look like a quitter once again. She planned a big bus tour and once the media attention died she decided to give up.

High profile people are regularly excused from jury duty because they are simply too high profile. It happens all the time. Judges often feel it would be disruptive.

'jury duty'? seriously?

Does anyone really think she'd make it past jury selection?
Just because you get summoned for jury duty doesn't mean "automatic 2 week vacation at the court house". A handful of citizens show up (summoned) then plaintiff and defendant attorneys agree on which jurors to keep (sifting out the wackos and extremists that would obstruct a 'fair' trial). Most trials (you'd get summoned for.....ESPECIALLY in Alaska....aren't going to last more than a day)

It is just like Donald Trump - just a publicity stunt to get more attention and sell books and whatever else she does.

I don't buy into the jury duty thing. She is to high profile to make it onto a jury. The media would make it a circus and judges know this. It is funny that her "tour" seemed to die the second the media decided to stop covering it.

Does this woman ever finish anything she starts?

I remember I was summoned to jury duty where I grew up, too bad I was living in another town (still within the same state, though) and was able to get out of it because of that.

If it were a ****** trial, though, I would have tried to do it. I actually like watching court proceedings

Jury Duty = Time off to film the next Nailin Palin installment.
