I just got an xbox one along with this game to hold me over til Titanfall. I'm interested in the time period as well. I'm kind of a military history buff.
This is actually a great game. The graphics are outstanding and sometimes borderline photorealistic. The gameplay is button mashing action all the way but there's the added dimension of quick time events . Blocking an enemy's ****** at just the right moment and performing an execution maneuver on that filthy barbarian by lopping off his ***** arm then stabbing him through the neck with your gladius is so visceral.
Leading your Roman company (XIV Legion FTW) through the dark woods of unconquered northern Britannia is just such a cool setting for a game. Any fans of the movie The Eagle know what I'm talking about.

Oh, and the dialogue and the voice acting are top notch.
