One game on opening night, New Zealand (All Blacks) vs Tonga (Ikale Tahi (Sea Eagles)) - 8:30pm (8:30am GMT) at Eden Park.
There will be an opening ceremony beforehand, should be able to see the fireworks from my house :nanner:

As a rugby fan i would also like to see the all blacks win it, but my gut is telling me Australia. So many teams could win this, England are a great tournament team ( And have a knack of beating Australia ) South Africa, France, Argentina. It's certainly going to be a good tournament, well i hope anyway. But i'll stick with my gut and go for the Aussies.

It's possible. 3-2 lifetime against Tonga, 8-11 against Japan, Canada needs to win both those games. I remember one of our arrogant sports journalists predicting the All Blacks would beat Canada by something like 100 points in 2007. It was only 64-13 :thumbsup:

USA are one of the second tier kind of teams here, but among that group they aren't too bad. One match that is being hyped is USA/Russia, Cold War revival :stir: You can probably beat them too, could be one to look out for.

From what I've gathered from it (mostly Youtube) it is a game that would be up my alley, only because I grew up on skates. Sports where you can literally **** someone are always good. A good release helps **** (and I'm still a ***, damnit).

Tonga played tough in the second half, hopefully no more scrum difficulties to ruin the flow of the game :noway:

Matches tomorrow are France/Japan, Scotland/Romania, Fiji/Namibia and Argentina/England (probably the best one).

Not great from the All Blacks today but a wins a win. Tonga played well second half they deserved the try. But not as convincing as far as the All Black fans will be concerned.

Tomorrow should be easy wins for France, Scotland, and Fiji. But England's game will be tough, the Pumas aren't as good as they where in 2007, but still a strong, physical side with a good pack. I'm still going for an England win, but it may be closer then people think.

Scotland had a dodgy game today,and I hope they learn in time for the
Georgia game.But at least we got the win and hopefully we'll get better

I'd like to hope that the Canucks could beat Tonga and Japan considering we should theoretically be good at rugby, but... Canada has a strange ability of not showing up at World Cups. Basketball, baseball, rugby, soccer, hell even hockey a lot of the time...

It's dissapointing to see that there is such a gap in the skill level of teams like the All Blacks compared to the Canadians since the Canadians are fourteenth in the world, which doesn't sound like much I suppose, but still high enough that I would expect a more competitive game against the Kiwis. International rugby seems to suffer from the same problems as international hockey; get out of a small group of teams in each sport and the skill level drops dramatically. Which is a shame, becuase rugby (for now) is still one of the games we can constantly beat the Americans in. :tongue:
