Roughneck's request to all members....

.... MALE and FEMALE!

Now, I realize that this is a porn board.
As such, we deal a lot with lovely boobs, vaginas, penises and balls.

As a healthcare provider and advocate, I deem it my responsibility to post this question:

When was the last time you went for:

Males: Testicular and/or Penile exam?
Females: Pap smear and/or breast exam?

I can probably imagine a few of you doing a *groan* right about now.

But please bear with me....

If there are any "truisms" in healthcare, they would be:
* Time is "gold".
* "Prevention" is FAR better than "cure".

If all my years in healthcare have taught me something - you can never go too early for one of these tests!

Boys and girls, it is this simple:

* You all need to learn how to do the self-tests yourself.
* The sooner you learn and the sooner you make it a habit to do 'em yourself, the better.

"Why?", you ask?

Well, simply because:

1. Starting at a young age makes it easier to establish a good habit
2. Starting at a young age means that you are more likely to form a good "map" of your sexual organs.

Don't laugh! I'm being quite serious! There is nothing "odd" or "weird" about feeling up yourselves to detect an abnormality.

How many of y'all know every "little bit" about your boobs/balls ?

The point being - the earlier you start, the better your chances of "learning what your normal" organs "feel like". You'll develop a more clear picture of what "they should feel like when I put my fingers here" etc.

Thus, as the years progress, you will spot an "abnormality" sooner than if you wait for "yearly checkups".

These "preventative" tests can be rather easily performed at home (except for the pap smear of course!). If you are unsure about how to do them, refer to these websites:

If you are still unsure/uncomfortable - talk to your healthcare provider. I'm sure they have resources available.

This is a humble request from an old healthcare provider.

cheers,
R.
