Robert De Niro Vs Al Pachino

I would say overall DeNiro is the best because I think some of his later movies are better and he does seem to have a wider range of characters that he does well. If we were just to go on the earlier films or just count the very best movies between them I would go with Pachino.

DeNiro's "comedy" movies make this an easy one for me.

Neither of them for me, both are sterotyped as either gangsters or the main man. I've also seen many a actor act oppersite them and act them off the screen. Only for them to get no credit for it either.

Don't get me wrong, I do like some of their films. But people quote such as The Godfather, Scarface and Goodfellas at me. Sorry I'm still waiting to see a good gangster film, as most of them are so historically wrong it's untrue. Or even if they're a fiction story the mistakes are just so many. I even find the acting in most of them is poor at best no matter who it is.

De Niro. Absolutely. Pacino has cool factor, tho.

This is sorta like comparing Samuel L Jackson to Forest Whittaker. A personal preference as opposed to a true test of ability. A'course there is always the G_dfather..

But I digress. Their choices in movies define my answer. De Niro. Heat, Raging Bull.. but I liked Pacino in Devil's Advocate..among, geez.. too many to count on either side.

It is very close, I will go with Robert De Niro though. He is better I feel in the respect that as a actor he has shown a broader range of acting skills. Abel to excel in all. Pacino also is a great actor, I think has just limited himself in picking rolls.
