Is one of my favorite video game series. I'm a huge horror/zombie fan. I started to play the game when Resident Evil II came out and I was hooked.

Zombies + Shooting + Mystery = FUN

Best Resident Evil is a cross between Part 4 with Leon or Part 3 with Jill.
Superb action and storyline packed with gameplay.
The original Resident Evil had a good story,being sent to investigate a series of murders in the remote mountains of Raccoon City only to end up in a mansion that was all set up by one of their own.
So the original one had twists and surprises along with a cool storyline.
Then after that all the rest were action based.
Even the last one in Africa,I think they deviated from the original storyline where the characters are trapped and fighting for survival. The genre of Resident Evil games are called Survival Horror and playing RE 5 no one can call that game survival horror. That is an action game.
Unto the movies,as I said in another thread,they are all crap.
If the movies had the same exact storyline from the FIRST game it would have been awesome.
But to have some unknown 'clone' chick name Alex starring in the movie and the supporting characters have NOTHING to do with the game was embarrasing.
Capcom should have never authorized it.
The second movie learnt from the mistake of the first and went and added characters from the game. Jill and Carlos,even Nemesis,so I give some kudos to the second movie. The third movie,crap.
My favorite character is Jill,strong female character,not some bimbo chick like Lara Croft.lol
My favorite villain is Wesker,he is so cool and bad ass.
Weapons? Have to be the grenade launcher,shooting them zombies with the acid rounds and the flame rounds and seeing them moan in agony is a masterpiece!

I thought Re4 was good, but I didn't like the fact that the *** developers never played a FPS before an insisted on the clunky pseudo-rail shooter view system/movement. I also have grown to loathe Capcom as a company over the years and think the series would progress a lot more in the hands of people that give a shit about more than just cashing in on the least amount of effort. It was a really good game for its time though and most of my complains can be attributed to 'capcom sux' instead of 're sucks'. I dont follow the story, i assume its banal thought i know it flows through all the games about viruses etc blah blah somehow the campiness worked in RE4 when it was more grating in the older ones/new one. But probably the only game where i was almost scared but i guess more like creeped out in the regenerators section also the music/lack there of was part of the creepiness too, but thats leagues above FEAR or Doom 3 with boring "surprise" enemies which isnt even scary because it just happens over and over.

I didn't really enjoy any of the games all that much. The movies were pretty entertaining though! I dunno, I just can't get into the zombie thing.

Her name was "Alice" and she wasnt a clone. Yes the second movie did end with a mass of clones, but the original was just a bog standard woman.

As the movies go, first was passable, second - better, third should never have been made. The games were all good, but the first of the series was the only one i never finished, i found it so tedious I had to give up on it.

I really enjoyed the first one. I love the mansion and atmosphere, the different sort of monsters, it was just really entertaining.

The one I disliked, I will admit I have not played yet, is looking like it will be Resident Evil 5. Only because it looks like the typical watered down shooter like every other game out there. I might pick it up when it is cheap, maybe.

The Resident Evil: Survivor character. Something about him I didn't really like, despite me enjoying the game. Ah well.

I love pistols. so any of them. Oh, and the Gatling gun.

I loved all the movies. Despite what critics say. The first one was a little rough, but still enjoyable in its own way. The second one I really enjoyed, especially finding all the references to the games. The third one was decent, I enjoyed it, I especially thought Spencer Locke was hot as Hell in that movie, she played K-Mart. << Ha, that's odd to say.

There was no mention of anything of the sort in the first movie. In the first movie she was a security operative for umbrella, working as a double agent it seems with intent to bring them down like the rest of the insurgents, but bout of amnesia later, through in a run in with the virus...In fact I dont think there was ever any mention of how she became infected,perhaps she was experimented on in the time between the plot ending the virus taking hold of the city.

But yes it was pretty mad, perhaps to hold true to the game plot was to much info to squeeze into a movie. We all like some back ground story but they cant tailor a whole movie on the basis that everyone who sees the movie will have played and understood the game. They tried to be original with it, and they failed, so came round to the game, and then made the mistake of handing it over to paul anderson, a man who by all accounts should be killed for some of his attempts at making movies. Hes an uncreative over credited wank of a director.

That aside....oh why bother, they killed the franchise with his attempt at a movie sequel, even a 4th with an oscar winning script cant save it.

It would be like scraping shite off your shoes with gold cutlery.

- 2/4/5. 5 should have been a new IP, though and not Resident Evil. Or same game with more horror popping out and scaring you shit. And darker not in broad daylight. Really fun coop though.

I hated all the movies. They were good in a b movie kind way but not good Resident Evil pictures and really random.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4. RE2 had a great story. RE3 scared the crap out of me, Nemesis opening doors and yelling STARS! RE4 was fun on the Wii.

I hated the RE game that was online. Clunky controls and was boring. RE5 also pissed me off. Dumb AI that waited a second before attacking you. Plus that girl just got in the way and there was no point in giving ammo to her. It didn't feel like a RE game.

Best - Wesker and Ada Wong
Worst - That one girl from RE 0, I forget her name. Brown hair and had a medi-pack on her back.

The first movie was ok. When I heard Milla Jovovich was playing the main lead I definitely wanted to see it - loved 5th Element. The second RE movie was too cheesy... I hated how the person playing Jill acted. Plus the whole church scene with the motorcycle.... LAME. The final RE movie was more action packed. Wesker was in the movie so it was ok.

I loved Resident Evil 4 the most, followed by RE1 (RE1 was much scarier but RE4 was more fun to play)
RE5 is the worst in my opinion, due to ridiculous story and it played waaaay too much like Gears of War so it was very unoriginal.
Favorite character would have to be Leon
Worst character would have to be that one kid from RE: code veronica
Best weapon would have to be either the hand cannon or chicago typewriter from RE4

No one has noticed yet it seems. I pointed out that I liked RE: Nemisis and I disliked Jill. She is the main character for Nemisis lol. I think it is all down to the scenery [abandoned streets, grave yards, abandoned hospital. ect] that makes the game appealing to me most of all.
