Resident Evil 5

The only complaint I have is that the game wasn't scary or suspenseful and went more for action. I remember playing RE1 and being low on ammo and hearing even just one zombie in the distance I would just sit by the door fearing to go any further. I loved that feeling! Even RE4 (which i think is the best) gave me some thrills but nothing compared to the first one. I kinda hope zombies make a comeback in the series.

I think one taking place during WWII would be cool. Like where u play a stranded soldier who comes across a place where the nazis were experimenting with the virus and then that gives rise to Umbrella

Gonna sound daft now but who is the blonde girl in the village. I find it weird that a young blonde white girl is in the middle of an African village, i thought at first that it may have been Sherry but obviously she isnt. Did i miss something when i played it? Anyhoo, Excella is FINE and Jill looks hot as a blonde. And is there gonna be a Resi 6??

really just started playing it a few weeks ago (had alot of games before it to play)
im finding it repetitive with having to fight all these guys in bunches.
then the stupid chainsaw guys again?
wasn't this series about the gameplay? and figuring out puzzles? not about how many guys you need to kill in a specific village or such?
hopefully the farther in i get it will get better.
im just entering the Mines? i guess that is where it is.Alpha team (??) just saved us from the "zombies" on bikes.... cmon they're on bikes now?
this series has taken a weird turn after code:veronica.
the chainsaw guys are stupidly hard to kill.it's dopey.
i do like the almost limited ammo im always figuring when to shot and when to knife....
anyone else feel the same? considering you all have finished it already?

ok i finally finished this game it took me 13 days, limiting my playing to an hour or so here and there........conclusion.........
I am done with the Resident Evil franchise from this point further. this game looked beautiful....the story was dopey.... this isn't even realistic.
i know its a game and i know you have to progress or move foward in a franchise to keep fan interest but the enemies are becoming like every FPS where it's just a bunch of guys coming at you over and over and over.
they rehash the licker which was way better in RE2 and actually more scarier.
wesker doesn't die.... until the end finally. he dodges bullets and does matrix like moves and even "teleports" while dodging your bullets.imme a break
the virus was not meant to be like this then is actually goes or comes before racoon city there was research since the 1970's? c'mon enough already
i can probably go on...i won't ....... i'll probably get shit from others who love the game.....i don't care.........
this isn't the game that i saw for the 1st time in a funcoland in 1996?
where the clerk was playing and was moving the statue over the hole in the floor to keep the tentacle from grabbing you before you went on your way to fight the giant hive!!!! that is the RE i remember.
i was amazed (like a 6yr old on christmas morning) when i saw the guy playing it (and with my mouth agape in stunned silence) i asked what that was he was playing ... "RESIDENT EVIL! you don't have it?" he says..."no but i want to buy one right now" was my reply.
thank you for everything chris and jill...but i must move on to greener pastures and say one final time
thank you and good night to the RE franchise.

I googled to see if they had any plans on doing a Resident Evil 6 and all I could find out was that they are thinking of doing a reboot.

I don't think she was anyone special other then just a sexy blonde hair woman running for her life.

Adding my two cents. I really enjoyed the game. I loved the graphics and the story was ok. I kinda wished they made Jill an unlockable character you could sub in replacing Sheva. Not that I disliked Sheva. It would have been neat adding extra replay value in story mode. It would be cool if they upgraded Resident Evil 4 in HD and release it on Playstation 3 as well.

If anybody here plays the mercenaries part. I beg you to play a few rounds with me. Im tired of idiot 13 year olds committing suicide because they enjoy the cut scenes + I want to get in the damn top ten leader board anyway

I completed Chris Redfield version but I couldn't complete Sheva Aloma version, stupid button bashing thing. I couldn't get Sheva to climb up the cliff at the end. Sheva, Excella and Jill are sexy women.

If you are bored as hell, lets play some levels on professional mode without infinite ammo.

That was a very, very good post. :)

I just got an insanely cheap copy of Resi 5 on 360 (5 quid!!!)

I share your misgivings with the series, but handled the switch from zombies in Code Veronica to the more action-orientated 'mutated villagers' scenario in Resi 4 with ease, I enjoyed the increased playability massively.

BUT, there was no fear there, nothing has ever been as scary as the 1st Tyrant sequence in Resi 1 for me, that was awesomely disturbing, in some visceral manner the Silent Hill games will never understand.

I think you want the Resident Evil games to go back to being scary, limited ammo, more danger, more low-key, and I applaud you for that.

I find the recent games very playable, brilliantly playable, but have to agree that they almost seem like they are not Resi games.

If they could amalgamate the playability from the recent games with the fear factor of Resi 1 (and 2, at a stretch) then we are talking teh ultimate money shot, fuck the rest of this site.:bowdown:

Resident Evil is going into the same melting pot of video games. Either Action/FPS, RPG/Action, Sports/Racing, or Online, or combination of said genres.

Very few come along anymore that stretches the boundary of innovation and imagination. Games are fun. I love them.

Thing is games blend in.

Not hating on games, I still love them, I just notice they are all the same how, ten years ago they were all different in their own little way, and if a game came out and seemed to be exactly like another, more successful, game, it was usually a failure because it did not deliver and just a money making opportunity for whoever thought it up. And it would come and bite them in the ass for failing.

Now it is all franchises and same thing. Not to mention the having ot cater now to casual gamers who do not like their games to be too difficult.
