Hey I have a question, even though it's probably a very basic question....what is rep power? And how does one get higher???

Reputation system (Rep)

How is it that from time to time, I will get grey rep? I know when I started coming here, there was an option to give neutral rep, but now all I can leave is positive or negative.

So how can people give grey rep points?

Grey rep is from people with no rep power. It just shows up as grey whether they gave you positive or negative rep.
