No it doesn't. What sucks, are the people that try to shove their version of it down your throat, and won't except you believe differently. Or the ones that take it to the extreme, and choose to act violently, or use it as a moral yardstick, to judge other peoples lives. In a sense, religion is like a fast car, or a gun, or a bottle of whiskey. In the hands of a reasonable person, it's not a dangerous thing...but some people just shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of it, or use it unsupervised.

I don't know why people are so devout about their religion. It's usually determined by where they're born and who their parents are. Some sorta Roulette Wheel Of Enlightenment perhaps. People proud to be "God Fearing" are laughable and don't seem to realize you're not supposed to fear something that truly loves you. I guess if you don't fear God then you dare to be free and that must be the thing that frightens them.

Fuckin needless guilt, unanswered prayers, evil in the world, murderers on death row who are fuckin "born again", televangilists bilking seniors of hard earned cash while they fuck their secretaries, priests fucking little boys and so much more. ^ There has to be a goal you are trying to accomplish by ranting; otherwise, you are just wasting your time and energy (no matter how much I agree with you). As the great George Carlin said: "Relax and enjoy the show / enjoy yourself". All these people are going to "provide us with entertainment for a long time". Any time somebody does or says something stupid - that's what we have stand-up comedians for (though I am a little tired of the [NOBABE]kid-fucking[/NOBABE] jokes).

He doesn't just do it for the money. He actually enjoys spreading the word of The Lord and making ppl feel good about themselves. The good thing is Osteen doesn't brag about his wealth nor does he talk about it during sermons. You can call him fake and so on and so fourth, he's been very spiritual since he was a kid so his Christian faith is a big part of his life.
The other day I was watching a film called "Mean Streets" and even though the film takes place in the roughest streets of Little Italy NY I was always paying attention to the main character Charlie played by Harvey Kietel. Who is living in a state of sin looking for some sort of redemption through his friends and God. Deep down Charlie knows the Church is strong yet he is weak since he is filled with lust and guilt. "Mean Streets" is one of the most religious films I've ever seen on screen. So if you really think about it religion does make sense it. There is a lot of symbolic poetry to it that even something like science couldn't possible question. Yes there is good religions and bad religions in life and you don't have to be a hardcore believer but it all comes down within your heart if you are open and accepting of a deep spiritual faith.
