Reducing size of files, without....

loosing too much video and sound quality.

Does anyone know how to reduce a mpeg / avi, or something similar to reduce the file size , but to keep most of the quality?
I cannot make use of Windows movie maker. Somehow the files are so terrible.

Is it for using or transfer? If for transfer, you can use Winrar or a similar software.

If for use on your computer: For viewing? I think You Might want to check out the "VLC Player" - It manages most media better than other players:

Thanks all for thre help so far. But your replies don't answer my questions. I'm sorry.

I was talking about decreasing file sizes, in order to save some space. I was wondering if it was possible to (as an example) decrease the size of an 1Gig movie file to 750mb at least, taking of 25% of mb space. And without loosing quality. When downloading porn I'm used to cut out the best pieces of the scene, but I still want to try to have little storgae space.

Kind regards

They do have splice and merge programs for .mpeg, .avi, and .wmv files. However, I wouldn't try messing with the size of videos. If you do try reducing the size, the quality will drop off. You even said that. Your best thing to do is to buy an external hard drive and move the video to there. You can get a 3 TB external hard drive for about $140 now.

You can get a 5T for less than $140, I've seen 3T drives for $80 & 4T at $100. The way prices are coming down it makes no sense to waste dealing with each file.
