Redefining My Personal Politics

Torn & Frayed.
Fuck all these labels man. Liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, etc. It's all so stupid. Labeling in politics divides us. We shouldn't be dividing, we should be uniting. I remember back in the primaries when I was talking to a coworker of mine and I told him I liked Sanders' message. He's an older fella and apparently he didn't take that well and then proceeded to tell me that I must obviously be a socialist Democrat and that I subscribe to Communism and such. My reply to him was that why can't I just simply like Sanders' general message without being labeled a socialist? Why must you label me? Don't let anyone label you and box you in. Don't fall into their trap

THIS. THIS. THIS.

Oh, and
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Partisanhack again.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not a fan of the socially conservative agenda and I'm not convinced of conservative economic philosophy and those were the two main influences that kept me Liberal/Democratic for the last twenty five years. I've soured on the liberal agenda, I'm tired of giving a fuck about special interests that don't give a fuck about me. At any rate, I think it's safe to say that I'm no longer a Democrat, but neither am I a Republican, calling myself "independent", or "moderate" just seems like a cop-out. Anyway, here's to a Brave New World!

What you are saying is that you miss Truman and Eisenhower.
