Reality or Bullshit???

Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran is set to deliver a "punch" that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution, AFP reported.

"The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman, February 11, in a way that will leave them stunned," Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air ***** personnel according to AFP.

The country's top cleric was marking the occasion when Iran's air ***** gave its support to revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a key event which led to the toppling of the U.S.-backed shah on February 11, 1979.

His reported comments came as Iran said it would begin to produce higher enriched uranium from Tuesday, in defiance of Western powers trying to ensure the country's nuclear drive is peaceful.

This year's anniversary is expected to become a flashpoint between security ****** and supporters of opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, who charge that the June re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was rigged.

Opposition supporters are expected to stage anti-government protests on Thursday when the traditional regime-sponsored marches to mark the revolution take place across the country.

Mousavi renewed his call for demonstrations on the February 11 anniversary.

Just over a week ago, he and Karroubi had implicitly called for a gathering of their supporters.

"The 22nd of Bahman is upon us, truly it should be called the day of gathering," Mousavi said on his Kaleme.org website Monday, according to AFP.

"I feel we have to participate while maintaining the collective spirit as well as our identity and leave an impression," Mousavi said.

"Anger and bitterness should not take our control away.

"The clerics should know that since imprisonment, beatings, and other confrontational methods are done in the name of Islam and the Islamic regime, it is hurting Islam and we all should try to stop," he added.

Anti-government protests were first triggered after the June 12 presidential election won by Ahmadinejad.

Over the past eight months, several thousand people were arrested. Some were released and others were given hefty prison terms, among them politicians, journalists and human rights activists.

Two protesters were tried, convicted and hanged in the aftermath of the election.

Khamenei told the air ***** personnel the "most important aim of the sedition after the election was to create a rift within the Iranian nation, but it was unable to do so and our nation's unity remained a thorn in its eyes.

As a student of Political Science, I did a paper on Iran a few months back. And I can confirm this to be true. However, Iran might be sincere in their motives in the sense that they just want to use it to create energy, there is no evidence that they will use it for WMD's. (And we all know WMD's are just the modern type of witches, used to create mass paranoia so that people in high places can get what they want.)

Well Israel is probably pulling out the ol' boxing gloves right now.

Whatever happens, I have to work Thursday.:helpme:

Iran isn't a big threat, they can hardly keep their Homeland Affairs under control. The Basij (Sort of like the Police) is having a tough job keeping all the youngsters in check who know how to use the internet and other free media.

Mahmud will stir up ****. He'll hold a speech in front of a large crowd on Revolutionary Square questioning the legitimacy of the title "World champion" when a team has only played against domestic opponents.

He has to keep stirring the pot....Irans got so much internal bull that if he doesnt keep the masses mind off it and focused on the great "satan" hes gonna be in hot water. Also they need the nukes for a detterent because it isnt a question of "IF" its a question of "WHEN" the west invades.

If I were in charge and they did harm to me or my country, there would be a nice new glass desert over there.

we'll find out in a few hours. my guess is morning rush hour, or evening rush hour

It was just a big bunch of crap as usual...the best they can do is brag about being a nuclear power which we knew they were working on anyhow...whatever :thefinger

well we knew about 9/11 before it happened and ignored that. So fuck it. Lets ignore this crazy fuck and see what happens.

Isn't Iran sitting on top of an ocean of oil like the rest of the Middle East? If they are, why would the want to waste their time creating nuclear energy?

Something tells me that their motives aren't as pure as they would have us believe.

Im fed up with this story its been going on forever , so what if there enriching uranium , if most of the world had invaded my nearest neighbour on false pretences , I would have every nuclear bomb I could get my hands on facing Iraq and anywhere else..........its only a matter of time............before they get invaded so they better be quick..........but me personally thinks there going to take it as far as they can and get as much out of it as possible so they have a bigger bargaining tool

If the west want to get on there high horses though, let them lead the way and do away with there own WMD's and nuclear bombs , then the rest of the world might see us in a different light , we should start practising what we preach and lead the world foward then there might just be a little glimmer of hope...........

I wouldnt mind seeing a nuclear free earth before I die , instead of the alternative :hatsoff:
