read any good books?

just wondering if people actually read books at freeones and what books they are reading or recommend to read.

I am currently reading 1776.

Right now, I'm reading Life of Pi. Other favorites from the past couple months are The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Book Thief, and The Plot Against America. I highly recommend all of them.

I'm going through a collection of books that I've had for quite a while, but never had the chance (I've a bad habit of reading my favorites over and over again, like Ball Four and Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy).
A while ago, I got done with World's End by Upton Sinclair, a look at the WWI from start to end through the eyes of one. An interesting read.
First On The Moon by Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins was quite good.
Right now, I am going through Walden's Pond. First time I've read it. Not a bad read at all.

I just started rereading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged yesterday.

That is one of the greatest, most clever, most memorable books I've ever read. I read it when it won the Booker and thumb through it whenever I am in a bookstore...

Well I might have to get it after I am done with 1776.

Look for the book, Oranges are not the only Fruit. Pretty cool.

Also, if you like emotional reading, look at Hey, Nostradamus by Douglas Coupland. Amazing book, very well written, and the kind of book that makes an impact.

You will dig it. Every time I recommend Life of Pi by Yann Martel to someone (especially nonreaders/business execs who are going on a cross country air flight) they read it and rave about it. When people sniff (at parties or at Starbucks:rolleyes:) that reading no longer fits with contemporary entertainment---they haven't read Life of Pi.

sweet, I will be on the look out for it.

"Going Broke" :1orglaugh

Ridpath's History of the United States Vols I - IV, Circa 1910, way before all of the revisionist assholes came into the mix.

But seriously, these are old ****** heirlooms of which I treasure.

I'm currently reading SLASH, Slash's bio.

Please read, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. So, so so good. It's about a ****** and sons journey through a post apocalyptic wasteland.

Post-apocalyptic wasteland...America....hmm. I'm guessing Cormac McCarthy spent some time visiting New Jersey to write the book? :thefinger:

I haven't lately but I do want to read some John Swartzwelder books. I have heard if you like the humor of the earlier Simpsons, you'll like his books (seeing as how he was a huge contributing factor to the show)
