That was the point I was making. The person I was responding to was saying that most people who say that they **** rap music are using that as a cover to express their racism. I don't agree with that.
I don't like rap music and I'm not racist. If I say that I don't like rap music, it only means that I don't like rap music and nothing more.
PS - Yes, rap music is popular and all over the radio, but just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's good. I hear a lot of shitty bands on the radio that sell millions of records and sell out concerts...but they suck.

Some gangsta talkin bout smackin down his bitches and gettin down wit his homies and poppin caps in asses and how difficult life really can be when you're a pimp. Stupid. And there's no music to it either.
If it doesn't have drums and at least 1 guitar, it's not music.
For me it's those 2 things combined. I actually don't mind Bodycount, I know it's old school and it carries on with the same bullshit, but at least it came with some decent riffs.

i like all types of music but mostley metal the only rap i like is snoop dre 2pac biggie ice cube and eminem. but thier is a lot of rap out thier that is just really pointless.

I play guitar and write songs...I still don't care if people don't like the music that I'm a fan of.
And, you just gave me a perfect example of why a lot of people don't like/**** rap music. It's because they use grammar like this...
You can put whatever words you want over a hard bass beat and some high hats and people will buy into it. Rap is a mass produced form of music which is marketed towards impressionable young people. It's success doesn't rely on talent. It solely relies on how it's marketed and who it's marketed to. Since it's marketed to impressionable youngsters (high school and college ****), it's quite obvious that they're going to buy into it. They'll do anything to be "cool" and fit in at that age.
Just look at how many new rap artists come out, have a song that does fairly well and makes them a decent amount of money, and then...they completely fall off the face of the earth. Why? Because they don't have talent. They can only come up with one or two songs that are "catchy" and then they disappear because they can't create good enough songs to stay around for a while.
