Radiohead's 'In Rainbows'

When does this Radiohead CD come out? Not the songs, I want the CD. I have all their stuff already.

CD should be out early next year, from what I've heard. They're looking into distribution deals at the moment, I believe. Otherwise, you can buy the discbox from the site. It's got In Rainbows plus a bonus disc, and the same thing again on two 12" records. It is, however, forty pounds.

Yeah, Blender isn't that great. There are no really good music magazines out these days. It's all niche marketing, rather than objective listening and evaluation. You pick up a magazine, and it's either geared entirely toward "indie" releases or geared entirely toward "mainstream" stuff (indie in quotations because I don't believe there is such a thing anymore). There is good music, but you have to read between the lines of the reviews to find it.

I think it sucks that people tend to limit themselves to a certain genre, and/or won't bother listening to anything outside what a certain magazine or website proclaims to be cool.

As for Radiohead, I love KidA, Amnesiac, and Hail To The Thief - I'm not such a fan of their early work. The Bends is probably my least favorite album of the early stuff.

There is a couple great music magazine out; Magnet, Skyscraper and Mojo. i still agree you have to take reviews in context...

What's everyone's opinions on the new stuff..as soon as I lurk around here another couple minutes I'm going to go get it. I'm going to pay $5-$10--somewhere in there, I haven't decided yet.

Okay after midway through my first pass through the songs...:thumbsup:

I feel like a dumass for only paying 3pounds ($6+) for it. I feel like I need to pay a little more for this.

"Bodysnatchers" and "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" are already fucking highlights for me...

Radiohead owns...I feel like I need to clean out some of the **** I have on my iPod. Not many bands deserve to be near them on my playlist..

I'm loving the new album. Great progression from the last few albums. You can really hear the growth in their music. Another great great album from RH

Just make up for it by buying the CD! I paid the same amount as you, but I'll buy it again when it comes out next year.

Yeah, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is probably my favourite. I could go on about how they've improved the song in the years they've been playing it, but it's not really important. Point is: this is a really great album. I still don't think it's '*** A' great, or even album of the year great, but it's damned good.

Yes, I'll be doing that. "Jugsaw Falling Into Place" has been moved from the second to the last to the top of the playlist.

I haven't really bought a CD in maybe 1 year. I've been an iTunes freak lately just cherry-picking whatever I want.

Just got it. I was at the store the other day and walked by CD's and was like WTF. There it was. So I grabbed a copy. $7.99.

My first impression was: I like it. I don't know if it's the masterpiece that I am hoping they can muster like past masterpieces, but...I have only listened to it maybe twice, and the last 3 or 4 albums I hated after one listen and they are now some of my most treasured albums. I am still hoping they can make some albums that mirror the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeplin. I really think they are capable of capturing magic like OK and *** A again. My favorite in order:

1. Amnesiac. (I know it's weird, but something about this album I love. One of my favorite albums of the thousand I have :dunno:)
2. OK
3. *** A
4. In Rainbows (I just got it, so could move)
5. the Bends
6. HTTT
7. Eraser
8. Pablo

"In Rainbows" is the album of the year for 2007. I am late to the "Feist" party, myself. But, so far, her album is nowhere near as good as RH.

Spun it a few more times and, I like it. :) I wanna get stoned and listen to it. :glugglug: I don't feel like calling any of my boys for a bag though. I wanna roll a fat one and have my girl roll me around and just zone out to this. My track is Videotape. Love it.

Does anybody know if they are coming to the Midwest for any shows? This is one of the bands I have to see live before I die.
