Just read this on Yahoo. He was a good actor, it sucks he died...and young too. He was funny too, but I liked him best in the movie striking distance.

A true Chicagoan. He was actually a Chicago cop for 18 years before he went into acting.

I first saw him on Law & Order, then later on in Snatch, Get Shorty, and Midnight Run, followed by many more occurrences. His acting chops were tempered by his prior police work, and helped him portray anything from a gangster to to a New York jeweler. A unique guy in every sense of the word.
