Questions on Clips

I had a question- I download clips and burn them on to my CD's. On a few of them, I burned the clips and at that time - a year or two ago (some longer) on some of them- they played fine. Now when I go to click on them - they don't open. I don't think physically there is anything wrong with my media players- are some clips copyrighted and I am not allowed to open them? I wonder what the deal is- anyone know? TY.
