Question - Tineye plug-in

I installed the Tineye plug-in and it works great, but I'm having an issue.
When I do a search of an image that was uploaded to Freeones, Tineye
only shows 1 result, a Freeones banner. This also happens when I cut
and paste the URL of the image into the Tineye site. The only way I can
search these images is to save the image to my computer and then go
to the Tineye site and upload it to do a search. Anyone have an answer
as to why uploaded images to Freeones won't work on a Tineye search.

I'd like to know the answer to that myself. A few months ago, I posted this same question on here and got several replies, but every one of them was some kind of smart-ass comment. One user even stated that he knew the answer, but wasn't going to tell me. I even went so far as to register on the TinEye forum and ask the question, but no one ever replied there.

this only happens if the pic is an attachment, if the pic is inserted directly to the post
this behavior wont show up.

so it may be a prob of embedding that pics ?

just unsorted thoughts

Yes. I've noticed it does the same thing on a few other sites. I'd just like for it not to be a problem on FreeOnes as I use it far more.

Remember on freeones to view the attachments you have to be a member of the forum, i.e. be logged in to access the image. When you try to use the reverse image search it goes to that link but it cannot be logged in. Therefore it only gets the freeones banner. If you want to do a search save the pic on your computer and upload the image in tineye. There might be better ways, but this does work.

That's exactly how I do it, but the point is, it's a real pain in the ass to have to go thru these extra steps every time, especially when you surf this forum quite a bit. It would be nice if FreeOnes and TinEye could partner up and eliminate this headache.

I know what you mean, I was just explaining why it doesn't work. I **** to be pessimistic, but it probably won't happen. Requiring people to be logged in/not allowing search engines to access attachments has its advantages from one viewpoint or another ;)
