And this really works so well for most of the people, be it the sellers or the buyers.

Issues can be handled way better and they get tested every week on thursdays in my hometown as I know, been to the local health authority for a HIV test (Negative, thank you) and met a load of ladies who got their weekly test done.

Yes it should be legal. Alcohol, cigarettes...two things that are known to cause rampant diseases/cancer/addiction are legalized and run by the government...how can sex for sale NOT be legal? There are many many reasons why it would improve the situation because lets face it, hookers aren't going away. Legalizing it would only make things more safe, give them more options as far as finding a good place to work and would keep things clean.

That's bunk. Nobody's advocating underage prostitution and you know it. That's a red herring if I ever saw one.

I hate when people try to regulate the behavior of adults by bringing up children. Be it booze, drugs, tobacco, guns, porn or prostitution, the kid card is always brought up when kids having nothing to do with what consenting, law abiding adults do.

legally separated couples may sleep around but married couples in open relation ships run the risk of legal social intervention.
If you pick someone up in a bar or pay for dinner and or a movie, its legal, but just walking up and handing over money isn't ?
Authority figures get off on power trips and telling someone who they can fuck, because a pecking order and issuing mating privileges is the ultimate power trip.
Its about the love for bullshit.
sadly legalized prostitution would get all screwed up.
I can already hear discussions on C-span about having prostitution officers monitoring activities to make certain clients only fuck in the missionary position and the abomination of homosexual sex is not taking place.
or worse MTV would make some politically correct TV show where people would be judged for not fucking grimey looking skeletons.
corporate America would get involved so there wouldn't be any variety, we would have to accept their concepts of what is fuckable.

I find this thread very funny. Now I agree that things like prostitution and pot should be legal seeing as how things like alcohol and cigarettes are a much deadlier and larger issue in the U.S. But come on lets be serious. I don't think anyone who actively posts on porn threads is gonna be against prostitution. LOL. Ive read every post on her so far and I dont think ive found not one person who is against it.
