I just found myself asking the Webmaster for help.
The thumbnail I had selected as a little "shop window" to show who was the subject of my post and to brighten the page a little turned out, on close inspection, to be a hardcore image and therefore contrary to the board rules.
Well I'm not sure if it was illicit or not. The image was a thumbnail image of a young lady, the type normally seen heading Freeones pages under "search babes" - hence my confusion.
If an image is used by "Freeones" in "Search" then I like to think that I can safely reproduce it in a post (as opposed to a link). If the image is "hardcore" then it seems ill-mannered on my part for it to be inflicted without warning on whoever happens to be seeing the screen. There is a difference between what I have asked to see in the content of a Board post and what just appears on the screen uninvited.
My confusion then is about why hardcore images are to be avoided - is it because of copyright or because of good manners?
I use thumbnail images quite frequently in my posts. I often find non-nude images preferable - although not always and not always available.
I wonder if the Administration can give some guidance on where to find hosted images that can be posted without offending either the picture owners or the Freeones rules.
Aebn publish pictures of models and usually link to them with their adverts for relevant films.
Likewise with Videosz. I am sure more examples can be found but I should like to know if there are objections to using (e.g.) Aebn thumbnails with Videosz material or even to accompany material from producers who do not provide the thumbnails.
If a thumbnail will appear between tags that is not to say that the copyright owners approve of its being used in forum posts.
Could we start an information database (e.g. in this thread) to let members know what cosmetic picture-posting behaviour is welcome and what is not?
