Got an email yesterday, with a promo of a particular gallery, leading me to this site:
http://www.maxglamour.com/
$3.95 for one day? Figured why not. No problem cancelling in time as long as I don't forget. Included an option for MacandBumble.com for an additional $1.95 for one day. Decided why not too; they have good content, biggest problem wth the site is they tend to recycle it as opposed to adding new stuff. Figured there might be enough new content since my last visit to justify a minor expense.
Got pretty much as expected from MacandBumble. A few new galleries, but most of their "new" galleries were actually pages that had been on their site years ago, then taken off, now they are putting them back as "new".
MaxGlamour was really disappointing. They have a very large volume of content, but to be polite most of it is "grade b" at best.
The worst part came when I went to cancel my subscription. I made a point of doing that the next day well before 24 hours had elapsed.
First problem: automated cancellation form doesn't work. In hindsight, that's not suprising, since the form asked for an email address and the signup form didn't. So, I have no records to show what I actually paid for. The conformation page for my signup contained no details, and of course I never received an email because the signup form didn't have that. Mananged to find a support page, and asked to cancel. Guess what? They told me that I had actually signed up for a 90-day, $70 membership. Excuse me? No, I didn't.
Contacted support; they jerked me off. Said since I paid for a full membership according their records, too bad. My best guess is they have a "trigger" that does this to people who sign up for trial memberships a certain number of times. Guessing maybe the 3rd or 4th time I tried a trial membership triggered them swindling me like this.
Wrapping up this vent, NEVER spend money these sites:

Based on personal experience, these are crooks who care a whole lot more about taking your money than they are about providing legitimate, honest, content.
