I never got addicted to smoking, so I was wondering if it is a stronger addiction than porn. I read that pornography is harder to quit than crack, but I've never heard a comparison between the two.

I think it depends on the individual. Everyone has different levels of addiction and dependency. Some people can quit things cold turkey, while obviously, others cannot. Addiction to porn and sex is very real....so who knows?

i am. not from personal experience though. i knew a guy that was a heroin junkie. he managed to kick the horse, but not the cancer sticks.

I tell ya what's addicting. Huffing paint, man I just can't quit that shit. Oh, and ether too, I just fucking love inhaling ether. Household cleaning supplies offer a veritable gold mine of untapped mood altering nasty chemicals. Descaler, bleach, ammonia, it's all good and at affordable prices too. Most gas stations in town have banned me. So what if I hang out for hours with my nose buried in the business end of the lawnmower's gas can. Sometimes it's very hard to leave when you're choking back your own vomit and your vision is blurred by a pounding headache and hallicinations of Aunt Jemima taking it up the ass from Toby Keith.

You gotta quit that shit man.

I suppose it's different from person to person.

I know a girl who was addicted to heroin, it took her fucking ages to quit, she had to be locked into her bedroom with the windows nailed shut and the door locked from the outside. I dont even think that worked because she broke it down.

I had a mate who smoked 20 a day, and he stopped 2 weeks ago without any kind of nicotine patches or anything...

or maybe the heroin in europe is stronger than in america, and the smokes in america are stronger than in europe. that sounds like american capitalism to me. water down the drug and put more chemicals in the cigarettes. keep em coming back for more.:rofl:

Four or so years ago, I had triple bypass surgury, and I threw away my last cigarettes in the hospital room...a real hardcore 30+ year smoker.
And I didn't smoke again for over three years, even though I worked in the cable tv biz, surrounded by heavy smokers.
Of course, after a split from my 7 year gf and the loss of my daughter, I was a little depressed...so I decided to allow myself the pleasure of one thing I could do anytime (pretty much), smoke cigarettes.
I am not an addictive personality, I guess, but I won't touch coke 'cause I grow over-fond rather quickly...my point is, get real!
Cigarettes are NOT anywhere near as addicting as just about any serious drug; what the problem is, is the internal weakness of the individual.
Most people won't deny themselves what they want if they can have it...personal control is severely lacking in most addicts.
Physical addiction is a fact, but severe psychosis and agonizing body pain don't equate with nervousness and mild panic attacks, as is the case with nic withdrawal.
