Second only to New York's Central Park in size, New Orleans City Park has never received the financial support it needs to be a first class urban green space. The park is funded solely by the City of New Orleans, and after years of graft and corruption, the park receives very little money. But here is your chance to help the park receive some much needed funding. Burger King is willing to donate $50,000.00 to a New Orleans and Baton Rouge charity, and though there are some good organizations nominated (except for Mt. Carmel or Chapelle I mean does the Arch Diocese of New Orleans, the single largest land holder in New Orleans, really need any more money? I mean really?) but none are more needy and deserving than the park.

Come on, it can't be any easier and the park needs your help. Things are so bad that people are bringing their own lawn mowers to help cut the parks grass. Storyland and the amusement park recently reopened, but the golf courses, the casino (not for ********), Tad Gormley (the high school football field) and many other areas of the park received extensive damage from the storm and need help coming back. Here is a place you can help.
